£10 for 4 boys too little?

They are quite grown up, the eldest is 20. We would normally get a game for their x box or a gift voucher for them to choose one online, but were told they didn't like it anymore.
Also what would a 85 y/old lady like which is under a £5?

They don't like xbox anymore? Does that mean my OH might grow out of it one day...?

I don't have any ideas for them sorry, but we always get OH's nan some nice tea and (diabetic!) biscuits, and that always goes down well.

If it's £2.50 each , I would go in the sweet bouquet direction

Buy some wooden kebab stick. Morri the cheapest 50p
Source some flower pots . Ask around you could get them for free and cover them. Then attach sweets to the sticks. Marshmallow lengths (flumps) are good couple of them to bulk it out. Kit kats 8 for £1 in morri .etc look for sweets on offer. Then if you can get hold of some cello wrap. Florists at Market good for that. You can get lots of sweets and wrapped under £10

I use oasis to put sticks in. Or polystyrene . Plenty about this time of year. If not weigh the pot down with stones. And make a lattice pattern at the top of the pot with cello tape and put the sticks in the gap. Cover whole base with Xmas paper

Or pints of socks . Glasses in asda 4 for £1 black socks 5 pairs for £4 . Some white flannels for the top and wrap in cello. I have used marshmallows for the top in plastic bags as flannels can be quite expensive unless you hunt about.

Very little to no chance of you getting 4 teenage boys something they will like and appreciate for £2.50 each. Even the Pound shops won't be able to help you, unless you buy some rather cheap and dodgy Aftershave from there.
Or as someone else has said, sweets............. but again, they would have to like sweets to get them.

I would have suggested the Lynx sets that are on offer in Superdrug at the moment, but they're £3 each, and I'm not sure if you'd be willing to up your price limit anymore??

Sorry can't be much more help, but if I had that budget for 4 teenagers, I'd personally not get them anything, as I couldn't find anything decent to give them. And I'm the queen of present finding! I shop for everyone at this time of the year.

Maybe it's time to pack in buying for the older ones, especially the 20yo, doesn't he have an income of his own either by employment, student loan or JSA? It would stretch your budget for the younger ones, if you stopped buying unless they are still of compulsory education age (or upto A level age).

Assuming you do have £10 each, a cinema voucher, book, mini desk light (I bought one from Primark recently that wraps round a cable for under £10).

ETA- I've bought my 89yo Gran some slippers.
They were £5 from Stead and Simpson. They also had an offer of 2 pairs for
£8.

If they have smart phones or tablets, how about touch screen gloves or joystick controllers? Prices vary, but you might find some for £2.50 on eBay.


I agree with Spendless though. Once the kids reach 18 I'd stop bothering- it's too difficult to get them something they'd like on a small budget so why stress over it?

they usually have touchscreen gloves in poundland. Leaves you £1.50 for sweets/ radioactive looking shots from B&M for the over 18s.

Mine are into Club Penguin and would love membership, and the 1month one is now (today's last day) on sale - buy 1 get one free, which would be exactly 2.50 each . But mine have long way to go to 20... and anyway, it's better to ask about stuff like that. Is there any chance they have Amazon wish list? Another thing big teenagers might like - gift card to cinema, is it possible to buy it with points from your own card?
