I bath daily with cold water and then use organic skin care cream only.0

I'm 46 and have pretty good skin. My face gets water splashed on it in the shower, and every 7-10 days I do a facial scrub, but that's it - don't use moisturiser etc. My skin's happiest when I put the last amount of gunk on it.
My skin is also happiest with the least amount of gunk.
I am 52 and the best thing I ever did was ditch all the cleansing creams/toner etc. My face is cleaned with water in the shower and I moisturise as I am out in the open quite a bit all year round. Other than that I put nothing on my face at all.
My skin is the clearest it has been for years, I wish I had done it years ago. If I wear make up though, I do make sure I wash it off.0 -
I wipe off all my make up with a bog standard babywipe (Sainsburies own brand usually, but I'm not fussy, I quite like Hello Kitty brand ones when I can get them, nice strawberry smell!)
Then use a Sanctuary scrub all over my face and wipe this off with a damp, hot cloth. If my skin feels really crap and like it needs a real wake up, I use the Soap and Glory body scrub as well, its harsher so more effective if you feel like you have dead skin issues.
Then use a Soap and Glory Peaches and Clean skin cleanser, again wipe this off with a hot, damp cloth and then dab over my skin with toner, just a little wipe, not using too much product. I'm not fussy about what toner, I think they all kind of do the same thing!
I then go off and do other things to get ready to give my face a chance to soak in and settle (about five minutes), then apply a Sanctuary mousturizer, although I like Mandala products for that too (again though, not THAT fussy). If I'm going to bed then I'm done, but if thats at the start of the day, I give it another five minutes and then apply my primer, and after thats soaked in I can put on my make up!0 -
My morning routine is this:
- wash face with cool water
- Thatchers witch hazel with cucumber
- Hydraluron
- Origins Make A Difference Plus+ Skin rejuvinating moisturiser
- Pat on almond oil
- La Roche Posay 50+ sunscreen
In the evening:- Oil cleanse with mixture of castor oil, jojoba oil and almond oil
- Cleanse with Boots sensitive foaming wash (sometimes using the Luna Mini)
- Thatchers witch hazel and cucumber toner
- Hydraluron
- Avene Rich recovery Cream
- (Every three days wait 20 mins, apply Tretinoin, wait 20 mins, apply Avene cream again and continue as follows)
- Layer of vaseline before bed.
- Also neem oil as a spot treatment.
Anybody who really wants to start focusing on skincare can make a great start by adding a dedicated sunscreen into their routine everyday. No more goo hoarding!

Interested in this thread as I will be 40 next year :eek::eek::eek: and need to start following a routine myself
I don't really do much at present, I also brought the superdrug hot cloth cleanser as it was on offer and I had read good things about it. I don't use it every day as I forgeta quick splash with water is much easier/quicker.
I use doublebase as a cleanser/moisturiser, I started doing this when ds would get through loads of it for his eczema. I don't use a 'proper' moisturiser but really should start.0 -
I wash mine twice a day with aqueous cream and wipe it off with warm water. I only moisturise in the mornings. Don't bother with toner - not really sure what it's for.
I wash with aqueous in the bath, its lovely (and cheap) I would recommend it. Its amazing the things you discover when having a child with eczema.
Just a note of caution aqueous cream is an alternative for soap. It is not supposed to be used as a product without water.0 -
Just updating
So i bought the hot cloth cleanser from suerdrug and also some Simple Oil Balancing wipes.
i use the wipes every morning and every evening, and the hot cloth cleanser gets used every other day in place of the wipes.
I also am using the moisturiser after the wipes/cleanser twice a day.
The problem is that i have been getting a LOT of spots (white heads..yuk!) since starting the routine.
I was on my period, which may have caused the spots (i always get them when it's my TOTM) so i am going to carry on doing this routine for a month and see what happens with the spots.
Normally i break out in white heads as soon as i use any type of moisturiser, but i am going to be patient this time0 -
Cleanse every day to remove dirt & makeup
Exfoliate every other day to remove the dead skin cells
I use a different moisturiser for the night time than I do in the morning. I use a moisturiser with an SPF included in the morning - even during winter!0 -

Great advice, so many people (including medics) recommend using this as a moisturiser, if used dry on eczema it is nasty stingy stuff and it takes ages for the sting to subside. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
Always hot cloth cleanser. Any one will do, but my fav is the superdrug one. Can't beat it for being MSE either.
Use a moisturiser most days. Usually an olay one with an SPF. I've just bought a tinted moisturiser from M&S which I'm surprised how much I like.
Hardly ever put anything on my face at night after cleansing but do occasionally put some lovely Neal's Yard facial oil on it.
I have bought a glycolic peel, 30%, and have tried it twice, so planning on carrying that on weekly.0
