Hi Hope you can help. I bought a sholley and just after guarantee had been run out by a couple of weeks the 2 back wheels fell off whilst I was shopping! Had to get a taxi home.I had to pay sholley £16.50 for 2 wheels ,they we're fixed on a couple of weeks ago , now the frame at the top last friday snapped right off ! So its unusable, contacted sholley and they want to look at it ,I did offer to send photos, but they want me to pay £17 which I cannot afford to look at it ,which they MAY refund if its faulty!!!What do I do next as this cost me £87 + the £16.50 for the new wheels!
Did you buy the thing direct from Sholley?
If not, it might be a good idea to talk to whoever you bought it from.0 -
was direct from sholley themselves.0

Since the guarantee has run out, I presume its been more than 6 months since purchase? How old is it?
If so, under SoGA, the onus is on you to prove the fault is inherent. This is usually done via independent report but in this instance, it may be beneficial to pay the £17 rather than forking out for a report - as a report will likely cost more and in both instances, you'll be entitled to a refund if the product is inherently faulty. You keep using that word. Photos won't do much as they will want to test the integral structure.
As it sounds like its more than 6 months old then you'll have to prove the fault was inherent, as unholyangel says the £17 is cheaper than an independent expert report.0 -
OP has had this item for around two years according to this thread:
Katt5, in August you told us about the back wheels.
Now you say they have only been on "a couple of weeks", and you've "only just" paid for the wheels.
It doesn't matter much, but the wheel issue is clearly over and done with.

Not when you dont have £17 to pay for it! Been saying that but no one seems to believe that! I've been a good customer of theirs for years ,obviously counts for nothing. Its just over the year guarantee when it used to be three years!!!They changed it last year probably because they make them with cheaper materials!
Katt5, you told us in August:
Now you say "it just over the year".Hi I purchased a Sholley Trolley 2 years ago or less...
On your August thread it was clearly demonstrated that they did not have a three year guarantee in late November 2011... not "changed it last year".
I said on that earlier thread, and I'll say it again, if you have no warranty documentation then you will get nowhere looking for a remedy under the warranty.
You have had suggestions on how to progress this under SoGA from others.0 -
to wealdrome ,this was second set of wheels, so please dont use my past ask for help against me!
If that set of wheels you got in August didn't last six months, then I would definitely be complaining to Sholley that they didn't last long enough and you expected the replacement set to be supplied free of charge.0 -
looks like the OP didn't want help.0
