Our buyers have just pulled out----gutted!!!

HiOur buyers have just let our EA know that they are pulling out!!! They put their offer in on April 21st so for 2 months they have strung us along!!!!!!!They were due to pay their search on Monday and they obviously dont have the cash
they have had numerous excuses over the past few weeks about various things and Monday was the deadline for them to pay.So. lo and behold today they pull out.I am totally gutted---we were ready to exchange and the people we are buying from are ready too!!!!Not sure what to do now---do we carry on or do we call it a day?I know we are £900 down with solicitiors and survey fee
I just cannot understand why they have "played" along with it for so long knowing fine well they just couldnt afford it?I am soooooooooooooo annoyed!!!!Sorry to rant---I know there are far worse things in life!x

Keep a cool head here, you may be able to quickly land another sale especially as the market is still so buoyant in most of the country.

You might also want to go to bridging finance for a couple of months, if you are really keen to get the new place.
It’ll all work out in the end …

Bouyant, except london where abouts in most of the country do you mean?

Bridging loans are expensive, before you recommend one please point out the facts!

Not sure what the value of your post is noyk – the market is very bouyant in my part of London, as it is in many other parts of the country

As for pointing out that bridging is expensive, I wouldn’t want to insult the OP’s intelligence by making such a pointless observation …

If you have any constructive advice for the OP, I’m sure they would appreciate it, rather than making snide jibes

i was trying to be realistic, london is different (and is not the whole country) as i mentioned. my advice to the op was in there too... dont get a bridging loan. as we can see from subsequent posts, the op has been trying to sell 6 months. a bridging loan for that period would be painful to most people (though perhaps not for londonite's :)

I'll never understand why you cannot take the timewasters to the small claims court to recover your losses. This wouldn't compensate for all the grief but it might make the timewaters think twice.

I wonder if we could insist on a deposit when the offer is accepted to insure against non-completion.

I don't care what their reason/excuse is. I'd be fuming and might be tempted to pay them a visit (to ask them why they have cost me money, of course).

    :)

Maybe in a couple of days things will seem clearer!!!x
