Nope. That cat deserves the little blanket she made her own - much more than a stack of bricks to sleep by or a car to sleep under.
Go on, shoot me now.. yawnnnn0 -

But...she might be microchipped, she may even be registered with that vet, the vet may confirm what the owners have claimed, the vet may tell you there is no need to be so concerned.
I don't understand how you have decided to definitely rehome this cat when you don't have all the information yet. Surely that's so decision for tomorrow, to be made with the vet's input?0 -
And how does being microchipped help a cat who is living rough?
She may be - we will check for that. She may have been when she was a cute little kitten and allowed inside.
Now she is older and she is not allowed inside, not fed, not looked after so spare me your attitude and concern for the "owner"0 -
I really despise people who are prepared to see an animal suffer and not take action. and still think they are 'holier than thou'.
if you and Ewa are proved to be wrong, then Miss Kitty can always be returned safe and well! Like I can see that happening! that is one terribly neglected cat if I am not mistaken!0 -

I'm assuming your first paragraph is aimed at me? Thanks, always nice to be despised for offering an alternative point of view. Of course, I love to see animals suffer, gives me real pleasure. I could tell you what kind of person I despise, but then you'd report me I expect.
As for your second paragraph, I'm getting the impression that there is no intention of returning this cat whatever the vet says, their minds are made up and nothing will change them. I'd love to be corrected on that, I'd love for GR to say that nothing is decided until the vet gives their verdict, but I doubt that will happen.0 -
It will be interesting to say what the vet does say, but I think everyone after seeing the photos of the cat indoors can agree it looks happy to be there. It has now been inside for a while and has not made a fuss to go out, I do agree that some cats don't like being indoors and whatever you do you cannot keep then in (even if it is for their own good) however this cat does not seem to be showing signs of being one of those.0

AWwwwwww.
She looks really much happier now, and agree not as old.
It will be very interesting to see if the owners that were happy to leave it in that condition and walk past someone stroking and feeding their cat.....goes to the effort of putting a lost cat poster up.
I think this is very unlikely seeing as most of the time he can't even of given it a glance.
Happy cat now.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -

That is actually correct - unless the vet says it is in best interest of the CAT to release the cat back to living under cars/behind bricks in all weather and rely on strangers to feed it.
And I doubt any vet will say that.0 -
OK, now we wait for the vet's appointment to confirm the age of the cat, to check for a microchip and to have blood tests and general check up done.
Oh, and it is a girl0 -

My only concern is that the vet might just take on a holier than thou attitude and declare that if it has an owner, however neglectful they are,it has to be returned.
which i could understand if it was ever allowed to be indoors but for all intents and purposes it might just as well be a stray.Still,he can' t MAKE you just let it go back to living in the awful way it was.
My friend adores cats, she has 10!! she helps out at a small cat rescue centre and is a sucker for a sad story so they have all come with their own problems. Her most recent one was living as a stray, multiple sets of kittens and when picked up was in an awful state. Now she has been spayed and my friend has her,she lives upstairs. She is terrified of the front door opening in case she is thrown out again.I think in time she will settle but for now she is allowed to just be herself and do what she wants to do.It's a good job she doesn't live near London or i coud see 10 becoming 11!!
It is my belief that the only cats who would choose to be outside are either feral or have a good home that lets them come and go and they know that they will be well fed on their return.
For now it is not surprising the cat doesn't want to go out.She must have had more than enough of outdoors for a long time.
Have you given her a name yet?0
