Home buildings insurance recommendations

I am currently going through my mortgage application so hopefully if it gets accepted i'll need buidling insurance, any good recommendations?
I'm currently with Endsleigh for my contents due to being bankrupt in the past (over 8 years ago now) but the premium has nearly doubled since last year, i did make 2 claims at the same time though for accidental damage, first time i've ever claimed on insurance.
Ideally it would include flood insurance as i checked the Enviroment agency and i live in a high risk flood area (i never knew this lol), although it has never flooded since i've lived here (34 years now!), there are flood defences in place too.
Does anyone have any recommendations on which insurance companies i should try or comparison sites i should try? I don't want to get declined for any insurance as this will massively effect others from accepting me... hence why i've been using Endsleigh (they are ok for ex bankrupts)
Thanks in advance

A decision not to quote is not the same as a decline so simply because an insurer doesnt want to insurer you because of the area you live in, the car you drive, your claims history etc then that wont impact you going forward0

Is there any independant financial advisors / insurance brokers( for home insurance) on here?
If so then can you drop me a pm or message me on this thread.
Thanks0 -
Doubtful anyone's going to give their details on here Farside, imagine if they made a mistake on your policy!
What's your premium with Endsleigh? And are they covering for flood at the moment? Because from the looks of things you would need to go on a specialist policy, which are subject to minimum premiums. These I'd say would start from around £450 and work their way up from there.0 -
I still think if you have a general middle of the road house then the standard providers - Direct Line, Churchills, Aviva, M&S etc will be fine for the large majority of people.
Alot of comparison sites will auto decline bankrupts but will accept them via the phone, so maybe try them.
I wouldnt touch the E-Sure stable with a barge pole though.0 -

My premium is currently £306 per year, that's without flood insurance. I only just found out about living in a high risk flood area, so really i think it's best to add it on, just to be on the safe side0 -

Everytime i call insurance companies i ask them if they accept ex bankrupts and they say i need to go through the application before they can tell me, most the call backs i've had from the comparison sites say that, so they're useless lol.
I need a good insurance broker, but i don't know where to get one, it was very easy to find a decent mortgage broker on this site, but it looks like insurance brokers are like rocking horse s*** haha0 -

Co-op doesn't seem to ask about bankruptcy0

Royal & Sun Alliance are normally ok with bankruptcy .Can I find out my credit score? You do not have a single credit score or rating. Different organisations take different information into account when working out your credit score and may have different scores for different products. (Kindly from Experian)0
