Piggers: Have you tried pineapple juice?

It contains enzymes which will dissolve nasty gunkiness (hence not putting it in jelly or it won't set).

no.. it is evil stuff.. I rarely take ABs plus its a virus so would be pointless which is why I've not bothered the quack too.

OH is now sulking like a 5 y/o. I did 2 school runs with him loaded the WM and TD and DW. I put dinner in and asked him to watch it while I sorted presents upstairs.. I came down when I heard Pixie crying which she rarely does and he was in the kitchen playing on his effing phone DW loaded but not on and food burning.. I bit his head off said I can't do everything and if he didn't want to watch the food he should have said and I'd have done it myself.. cue him flouncing.

Honestly, you'd think he was a child.. but other than 4 school runs he has done nothing today I even cooked his lunch!!... And I feel grotty!!!

We have a surprise doggy visitor this evening whilst OH goes out with a colleague whose dog can't be left alone! Unfortunately that means a visitor entering the house in an hour or so :o Its acceptable, but I can't manage the hoover and OH very rarely does it..ah well. At least there are no rooms I need to close the door to anymore!
    I shouldn't worry.
    • the dog-owner will just be pleased that someone's keeping Pooch company, and won't notice the non-vacuumed state.
    • Pooch won't care as long as he/she is getting attention
    • depending on the breed, you'll need to get OH to vacuum after Pooch goes home anyway (trust me, I speak from experience, and I have the two champion moulters coming on Saturday):D
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Went to the R@nge for some new cleaning head for steam mop. Got some pretty jars for DD1 and DD2 for their happiness jars, got some pot pourri oil, they have a selection on herb and spice blends in a 4 way shaker, so got a selection to chuck in with the individual spices some, pick n mix and some K!lner sloe gin bottles. Nipped into Ald! for a cheap bottle of Vodka.

Got home, whizzed Kola Kubes in food processor, washed out sloe gin bottles. poured crushed sweets between the two bottles and decanted vodka on top, gave a good shake and put in cupboard.

Put pot pourri oil over my home dried roses from my Whoopsie bargains from Mr M the other week, put a few extra drops inside the Happiness jars and on the lace ribbon on outside of the jars. Just need to think up the right inspiring personal message to start each of my big Skints off for the New Year.

Time to catch up on Fred, then get the rubbish out, ready for the morning.

  • skinty - that first born son receiving father's name as a middle name happened here - it is tradition in OH's family. But..... O/H has a name commencing with A - which meant that there was a problem:- my initial idea of David Robert Alan was vetoed because our surname begins with B - and he wasn't going to be drab!

I settled on David graham Alan....
yes, it was a mandate here I checked what the initials spelt out and trie rhyming the names to make sure any obvious bullying names were taken out of the equation.

My Grandad was a TWAG, Thomas William Albert G..... and my uncle Bill is a WAG William Albert G......., my Dad nearly ended up as a BAG, Barry Albert G, but they dropped the Albert and couldn't agree on a suitable middle name....he was the only one of 5 children without a middle name and my Mum didn't have a middle name either when all the other children did...I was named after two pop songs my Dad liked, fortunately they were quite obscure so they were not sung at me day in day out.:rotfl:

I have managed the DW and putting the recycling out. This probably sums up why I have a problem.

Glad Woody is ok Dusty and great news on DS offers.

  • Oh, thank you to everyone posting about "wing resting". I feel so much better now.

I set of so well last week and again this week and have now come to a total full stop!!!! Hopefully my wings will be well rested tonight as DH has brought the trees down from the loft and I need to find a temporary but much smaller home for the remains of the paper frog! That is just while we get the trees and decs up. Then I will have loads of time to finish kitchen deep clean, blitz the bathroom and go round everywhere else to ensure it is sparkling ready for DS coming home Xmas Eve!!!!

Now obviously, it's late now so I can't go and do hovering or anything noisy but I'm going to go and crack on with anything on here that I can do quietly.
The hoover was reassembled earlier today after having been soaked overnight and well poked with a skewer. 2 of the cyclones were totally blocked and the filth which came out was unbelievable .
DD has now started the band at Sea Cadets and is playing the tenor drum so has to learn how to whirl the drum sticks around :D.
House is a bit of a disaster but am sincerely hoping it won't take ever so long to reassemble it.

Funny you all talking about names.
DD is C.A.R I didn't want her to be A or P as her middle name but when 3 separate groups of people brought up in conversation within 10 minutes that they thought her middle name should be Ann, I thought it must obviously fit! DS is C.E.R. Middle name Edward after my Granddad who died about 2 weeks before I realised I was pregnant. My nephew has the same middle name and my half sister was wondering aloud about giving her 2nd son the same middle name to make it a family tradition (I felt bad pointing out to her that it may deeply offend our Dad as it was his ex-wife's family and that she already had a son who didn't have the middle name).
    Right, get up!

I am still no nearer to wrapping anything :(
I did, however, finish the sifting of the toy boxes. And as luck would have it, a CS bag popped through my door this week. For tomorrow. So I have one bin liner of goodies exiting in the morning :T

I have cleaned up after dinner, swept downstairs, kiddies bath and bed. Aww, out came the children's bible as they wanted to hear the nativity story :D

DS said he was going to be "lord" Jesus lol, so I carried him to his manger :rotfl: he shouted me 10min later "mum I've got a bogey" :rotfl: d'ya think Mary had to put up with this kind of nonsense heheh.

I pledge to wrap one stocking worth of gifts tomorrow... Or maybe the poundshop Santa stuff ;)
