Without knowing it's impossible to say if it'll even work in this country.0 -
And remember all prices in the US are ex local sales tax. So that will add a bit as will shipping to the UK and import tax and vat!!!0

It's perfectly possible, but probably a bad idea. It'll also come with a US charger and probably only a US warranty.
Add the shipping, import duty and VAT and he probably won't save very much over buying it here in January. Why can't he wait 3 weeks?No free lunch, and no free laptop

As said and it might be US networks not UK .
Warranty is usually void or at best return phone to USA .0
