I have purchased M$ Office 2010 *Starter* so that I can open and work on .xlsm 'macro enabled spreadsheets'
If I open Excel and then go to file/open and find the file, it all works just fine, but I can find no way to 'associate' my .xlsm with Excel
If I right click on the file and then go to 'open with', Excel doesn't appear in the list and if I then go to 'browse' I am unable to find the excel.exe anywhere.
I've also looked in Control Panel/Programs/default programs and it doesn't (likewise) appear in there.
Win7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1
Excel 14.0.6219.5000 (32bit)
All updates are ok.
I'm stumped

Have a look in here
C:\Program Files\Programs\Office 2010\Office14
Might just be shown as excel and listed as application. The .exe is normally hdden by windows ! to see the extension goto control panel - Folder options - - View - look down the list and untick the Hide extensions for known file types. (just click on the tick and it will be removed) - then click apply - close box0 -
Erm, that's for XP
and it just tells me to do what I have already (unsuccessfully) done.0 -

The box is already un-ticked

Hmmm....perhaps better to remove that link...otherwise someone may be sued or at least required to cease and desist.0

You didn't use the quote facility, but I presume that you mean the link to the e bay site?
It's a link to a seller with 99.8% positive feedback for over 1000 sales.
Are you suggesting he is doing something illegal??? :cool:0 -

I didn't quote it, as then it would be in my post too.
If he is selling Office 2010 Starter, then almost certainly.
Apart from anything else, it's easy enough to download and install the thing at no cost.0
