Blacklisted?
I'm 18 months into a 24 month contract and on Friday my phone (GS3) would not connect to the network (VF), but data connection was fine through 3G. I went into store to be told it had somehow been blacklisted and that I should restart the phone after an hour and all would be ok again. All was not ok as I was then told by VF online chat I had to provide proof of purchase as the IMEI I supplied was different to the one they have recorded as me having purchased in June 2012. As it's now Sunday I cannot do anything but wait but what redress do I have if any on this as I cannot tell who's at fault, VF or the people who sold me phone (Dialaphone)?

IMEI change is not something that just happens . Major reason for wrong IMEI is a bad user firmware flash .
IMEI comes with the phone as part of its unique identity and is used to block stolen phones .
What is the IMEI now and what was the IMEI originally that came with the phone usually under the battery or on the box . ( dont post the IMEI here ).
All depends upon what model phone you have as to IMEI location usually found via service menu .0 -
Has the phone had a hardware repair, if so the IMEI may have been changed (i,e new PCB)? But if so the repairer should have informed you.No free lunch, and no free laptop

There has been no hardware change to the phone, it literally was working fine and then couldn't connect to the network. The IMEI imprinted behind the battery is different to the one VF have quoted as being the one associated with the device purchased in June 2012. I have ran the *#06# to fetch up the IMEI and it is the same as the one imprinted behind the battery.0

Then it's presumably an error in the IMEI reg that VM have recorded.?
Ask them to check the reg details for each IMEI no.No free lunch, and no free laptop

If you're still in need of help with things, could you email me with your details via the link in our profile here?
All you need to do is copy and paste the link into your web browser and it will take you to the Contact us form on our website. To make sure it reaches me could you also quote the code WRT135 - MSE in the subject line?
