Where can we eat cheap/value?

Last night we went to Ikea great Value. ok so it's not a restaurant but we don't mind. Cafeteria style is good also as long as I don't have to cook for a fussy family. They can see the food they want to eat then.

Others I have noticed on this board are Wetherspoons, Nandos, Toby Carvery and Harvester.

Are there others to similar to Ikea?

  • What about some more independent diners?

    Such as Stock Pot?
  • Costco? You don't always need to be a member to get into the cafeteria either.

Nandos could never be referred to as cheap.

Find a Brewers Fayre/Fayre and Square where meals are usually around 2 for £10
Savings £8,865.22 £/15,000 Aiming to save enough for a house deposit.

Sizzling Pubs in the midlands are cheap (not always best quality but fish/chips/peas £4 can't be knocked!)

Marstons Pubs better quality but higher prices

I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.
  • check out your local catering colleges as they often have 'practice' restaurants :) good food for reasonable prices, tho the waiting service is often a bit sloppy

I went up to London last week, and popped into an old haunt for lunch - Wong Kei, Chinese restaurant in Soho.
I had "fried Quai due" (thick Singapore noodles with pork, prawns and vegetables, great with hot chilli oil) and a pot of Jasmine tea for £4.80.
It is hard to beat that.

How often are you wanting to eat out?

  • There's always Crown carvery! It's about 3.69 or a bit more for more food for a full carvery! Choice of meats, yorkshires, potatoes and veg and you can get unlimited ice-cream! Awesome!
