They've made the ad symbol more prominent so that people have even less excuse to not notice these aren't the official sites.

    Umm, let me see -

DVLA - Yes lots of people need to advertise that word
E111 - Even more people need to advertise that
    Passport renewal - Again lots
    Are you really that naive?
So BBC could not do a news story that mentioned DVLA or E111, and Top Gear would have trouble reporting about vehicle duty. As I said get real!

They do. They trust Google not to allow evil scammers to advertise.

Why would anyone trust Google, period.

I'd be unhappy with Google setting itself up as an arbiter of what should/should not be advertised. They're a search company funded by advertising we should always remember that, they do it very well, but they're not censors or judges of what is acceptable..

No advert, anywhere has a seal of approval from the publisher. Any consumer forgetting that should expect trouble.

The fact that no one in their right mind would actully use the service provide doesn't make it a scam.

    they provide value added services

Make up your mind, which is it a "value added service", or a something "no one in their right mind would use".

Are you picky for the sake of it or is the concept just too much for you to understand?

They provide a "value added service" (i.e. they charge extra money above the cost of the passport or whatever to review it), but no one in their right mind would need it as it is not too difficult for people to correctly complete an application form.

But if people pay them, they get the service they paid for, so it is not the scam that you claim.

As someone who has used Google Adwords for honest purposes, I know precisely how they work, and how they can be misused.

I have spent 50k on Adwords therefore I know very well how it works. The only person who doesn't seems to be you. I posted links of how things work above as well. And as other posters have also said, some of the services listed are actual service. People don't read things on here as we see threasd about it all the time & more often than not the majority of the forum agree the word scam is the wrong word used to define these service so therefore why should Google only list some services & not others?

And as for your seal of approval theory nowhere here https://www.google.co.uk/intl/en-GB/policies/terms/regional.html can I see that an add on their site means it has Googles seal of approval! If you want to have that naive view that that's how things work then more fool you.
