whats the lowest spend "direct debit" i can do to allow me to join santender 123?
im not working at the moment but could transfer £500 to myself and back again to get around that bit, as i really could use their intrest rate
i dont have direct debits that i want to use with that account , can a debit be set up to myself at another bank or another family member etc?
edit...and do you always have to have 2 dd signed up or can they be canceld once you have the account

Interest is only paid provided you maintain a balance of at least £1000. The account will cost you £2 a month, so it may be best to hold off for now until you find employment. You may question anything I say. Just be polite, otherwise you go straight on to my Ignore List, which funds a good old fashioned knees-up every Xmas. Cheers;)0 -
...... so it may be best to hold off for now until you find employment.
You do not have to be employed to qualify for interest on a Santander 123 account. All you have to do is pay in £500 a month from a non-Santander account, have 2 DDs on the account and you will get interest if you have more than £1K in your account.0 -

£0.
The DDs only have to be setup, they don't have to be paid, but it makes sense to move any qualifying DDs to them.0 -

You don't pay for a mobile contract then0

The Tesco & PayPal DDs that I mentioned seem to work fine. I just have them set up, I've never actually used them.steveo3002 wrote: »what can i set up and pay £0 as im out of work i doubt i will get any store cardsStompa0 -

So you are luckily enough to have a lot more time on your hands than those of us in work. If you search the board, or do your own research on the web, you will soon find places that are perfect for Direct Debits.steveo3002 wrote: ».....as im out of work ......0
