How long should kids bed frame last?

Where does OP say they want two years use for free? It appears they paid for the bed, and at no point have asked for a refund.0 -
I think Jacques doesn't like me!
Anyway I just want a replacement of the cups for stronger ones, or I'd like to upgrade the beds. They have been slept in probably 180-200 nights maximum, so that's less than a years worth.0 -
When OP said kids bed I was thinking those beds you get for approx. ages 3-8 that are slightly bigger than a cot but smaller than a single.
OP says one of his daughters are 11 though so I'm thinking I must be wrong and OP must mean single beds that are themed for children.
£120 for a single bed is cheap imo.You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
They are 2ft 6 beds so slightly smaller than single, £120 without mattress. Maybe were too cheap but should still be fit for purpose!0

Sorry by kids beds being smaller (or at least the kids beds I was thinking of) I mean ones that are quite a bit shorter than a normal/adult single. I figured I had the wrong idea when I read that one of your daughters was 11 though as she'd likely be too big and/or heavy for those beds (they're more meant as a sort of stepping stone between cots and singles)
Well like all goods, once 6 months has passed, the onus is on you to prove the fault is inherent and not the result of natural wear n tear or misuse.
Its very possible the beds aren't made to be disassembled and reassembled. Do you still have the manual or anything which would indicate one way or the other?
Personally...unless I was 100% positive my kids haven't possibly contributed towards it (not saying they've done it intentionally, as someone else said....jumping on the bed perhaps), I wouldn't go through the hassle of paying out for a report that may not be refunded for the sums involved. If I was sure then I'd be more likely to take the chance.
Ultimately that's something you'll have to weigh up yourself. Sometimes even though you're technically in the right.....its not cost effective to pursue it.
By contacting the company did you mean retailer or manufacturer?
Perhaps should make clear that I dislike metal beds generally though as everyone I've known to own one has always had to replace it around 1-3 years! I've had same divan base for 15 years and only had to replace the mattress once. Changed headboards a few times but that was just for a change, rather than something that needed replaced. You keep using that word. I now hate metal beds too! Ideally we want to get divans or bunks. I'm sure kids haven't jumped on them, every single black cup is breaking.
I'm going to try and call, if I don't get anywhere I'll put it down to experience and buy elsewhere. But i think it's worth a try!0
