It's a posh alert to be able to actually afford it though
Work pay. They want him , they pay for it.
If its a taxi to get home he'll probably have to stay in Town. :rotfl:0 -

They'd need to see everybody face to face, good or bad, so those with bad news couldn't work out that it was going to be bad news because they had to go in .... leaving those with good news worrying.
In the old days a Doctor would have made an evening slot available.
My mum had surgery in the mid 60s. When she came round, in the Hospital, her GP was there; he'd sat beside her bed all night. He said "I just wanted to make sure you were OK - I'll go home now". You don't get that these days. He couldn't have been her GP for more than 2 years at that point either, it's not like he was the family GP or anything!0 -

So it's still a posh alert
Just not quite so posh
Blimey it's banging away outside! Sounds like the sort of day when I might have to go and wave off the dividing fence panels between me and next door0 -
Gen, hope you can shuffle things soon. How far is the doctor from your workplace? How long would you need to take off to get there and back?Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

That's amazing. I don't think any one expects that of GPs though.
I think my last GP was good, despite my GP prejudice. She's become a sort of friend. She phones every now and then and I know I can ask her opinion. If she hadn't been my GP I think we would be friends. I'm pleased with level of care non res p gets from that practise. It is good.

Its mildly windy here, but wind direction keeps swinging . It still seems to be mainly from south/south west though.0 -

That BBC breakfast weather woman has weird boobies. Or some novelty bra. Even my wife noticed it, so it's not just me.
Sorry to hear about the extra wait, Gen. Dodgy hugs and kisses from the Wheezies. :kisses:0 -
I had to pop out to post a birthday card... wish I'd sent it yesterday now....0

good sign is you still having to walk to check it
The cake pump has tripped the switch here. I had about two feet of 'safe' filling this morning before I have to in any way worry, the weather is vile. I'm not going to go and turn it on again til mid day. I recognise this is a risky decision but I think its worth it to stay by wood burner not out in tat cold greyness.0
