DS: She does! <points at 8 year old little sister>
DD: No I don't! I *never* beat him up at home... only at school.
Nurse (to me): I don't think I'll need to report that to social services.

Class! Children can dump you well in the smelly stuff without even trying - my mother says children don't get you into trouble by lying nearly as much as they do by repeating the exact truth at the wrong moment.

When I was about 6 and my sister E about 4, Nanna came to stay for a few days - she wasn't the indulgent-type mother-in-law, but rather the "<sigh> you know, dear, this room could look so lovely, if only.... "

So she arrived, and finally settled down in the sitting room with a cup of tea, and there we all were.

Nanna - I must say <unflattering air of surprise> this room looks rather nice at the moment.

E - it should do! Mummy's been doing lots of cleaning and tidying up because you were coming to stay, Nanna!

Mama - <found something fascinating on the carpet to stare at>

PN, I bought a screwdriver set somewhat similar to this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Draper-31-Piece-Precision-Screwdriver-Set-TORX-T4-T20-etc-FREE-DEL-DRA09550-/160860284565?_trksid=p2054897.l4275

It's been incredibly useful over the years, and it's saved my bacon many times. It's worth spending a reasonable amount for a decent quality set with some very fine bits in - preferably finer than that set.
I've lots of tools and screwdrivers - probably even a set that came from a cracker .... all in sealed boxes and stacked 4 high :)

If I simply bought everything I had again, it'd be daft. I will probably not need another screwdriver for another 3 years now.

DD announced that we have the nicest tree we have ever had.....because we have mislaid all the 'Heritage' Xmas decorations....so we had to do one from scratch + all the baubles and stuff have a colour theme (of silver). She likes matching things does DD.

Sorry, can't agree with your DD here. Christmas trees shouldn't be matching and sorted and colour-themed, IMO.

There's a principle of law, "joint enterprise", that states that if a whole gang of people go off together to commit a crime they are all equally culpable. You can argue about the fairness of that principle, but if that weren't in place, each gang member could blame the others, and it would often be impossible to convict any of them.

Yup - equally culpable in law, although sentencing might be different for differing roles in the joint enterprise.

If you "aid, abet, counsel or procure" someone to commit a crime, you are as guilty as if you committed it.

The man who delivers my prescriptions came today and said,...'you look....better!' I said ':D I feel better too'. I had a big upswing a few weeks a go. E,g. Haven't used stick or anything. I am finding tens brilliant, in fact I have to get another tens thingy, and not sure what to get.

When the brain is better...all the niggly bits that are secondary either start to clear up or become less important because they aren't so impacting. The question is d I get a few weeks now, months, years? What plans do I make....

    Do I buy a pony?:o

yes yes ....go for a pony :j Lydias DD will move in to yours if you do.
Good to read the above too...
OK, I'll be clear.... I bet nobody else has 101 Santas, a Santa poster, lots of Santas round the tree base ... and a FULL SIZED SANTA standing in the corner of the room ...

    :)

We have a fibre optic snowman and tress we used to use for the shop. I don't even know where we have out them......along with the heritage decorations.

OH wanted to get some tree chocs and hasn't found any. He looks if he is popping in somewhere.

    Who is 'we' LJ?

The mid winter blues...I have them too...not helped by the state of our house. I have had a nasty cold trying to get a grip over the past week and I just can't get ill but I have a feeling it will keep trying and blow up on Xmas day.

I missed the pic of kiwi dressed as a sheep :(
  • I'm knackered - too many working days in a row stuck in Feltham, and too much paperwork on top of it. I thought today was my last day in court this week, then I got a message about the case just booked in tomorrow for Taylor House. At least it's local, not bloody Feltham!

I also have Court of Appeal skeletons to do x 3 and JR grounds x 2. Bleurgh.

Earlier, one of the shops I went to was a discount shop that's got 3-4 branches in this region. It's small and filled with random stuff.... didn't think they had a website, but finally managed to find one: http://gt-originalwarehouse.co.uk

Lots of cheapo stuff, £1-5 or so. I picked up a bag of chocolates that are seconds. "Chocolate Assortment" it said - I've had them before. They're branded chocolatre misshapes without wrappers... no idea what you're getting.

At £1 for a 250g bag that's 40p/100g, so at my "buying price point".

Had them before, loved them .... this time, not so good. There's no assortment in the first bag; first bag's all the same type .... and ... it's fudge. Now, I've nothing against a bit of fudge, but I'd not choose a fudge chocolate out of a box, but now I've got 250g of them. Hope the next bag's not the same, it came from the same box/batch :(

    Swimming hats......

I'm thinking of buying a sort of funny turban style one....looks like more room for hair and less difficult to put on.

Any one any opinion? I never used to bother with a cap.....
  • Only ever tried the ones you had to wear at school. Nightmare to put on, and uncomfortable once you'd finally managed it.

    Zag - done mate!

All our decs are inside. Don't see the point of them outside, as we can't see them!

Should point out too that we have a specific santa cup, plate etc for his mince pie and milk to go in. There's also a seperate plate for reindeer food (glitter) and carrot for rudolph.

Even now last one to bed has to bite the carrot, pie & drink the milk.

Last year I snuck back downstairs & using talc did footprints on the floor. That was funny!

Its me in my house :)
I sneak downstairs after everyone else has gone to bed and put out an empty mince pie foil, a carrot top and an empty beer can/ bottle ready for the morning. I started doing it about 10 years ago and its now a tradition.
