My wife ordered a large rug cost about £200 over 3 weeks ago.

When ordered we were told 7 days delivery from factory .

Received an email saying goods were dispatched and a tracking link.

Delivery would not track even after 14 days.

I eventually found a telephone number on the Asda direct site, this is well hidden away.

Phoned and got though to an Indian Call centre I think.See promised to phone the factory the following day and call my wife back-she did not.

Phoned again got a different Indian girl, again said she would look into it and phone back she didn't.

My wife phoned again got an Indian guy who said it would definitely arrive Friday.

Just phoned again to check this afternoon ,to be told it has not yet been dispatched, but should arrive next Wednesday ,Maybe?

This has got to be the worst Customer service team we have had dealings with, one lie after another.

This will be the last time we ever use Asda Direct !

Belongs on the Praise, Vent & Warnings board. No customer rights issue here.

What does their race have to do with it?
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.

So you are a fan of Indian call centres,I'm not because if you are from the north east of Scotland you cannot understand the operators and they can't understand you.Give me an English call centre any day.

You say this... I had to deal with a Newcastle (or thereabouts) based call centre a few months ago. I would have traded for an Indian, pidgin English call operator because I could not understand the Geordies for the life of me!!

I am a fan of helpful customer service teams. Where they are from is irrelevant.

  • I couldn't agree more asda direct got to be the worst online service I have ever used. Ordered two chairs and paid extra for a Saturday delivery waited in all day only for them to not turn up, after various calls to their customer service line was told different stories every time they even said that the carrier had tried to deliver them and couldn't gain access, so mad. As it stands now I am still waiting I have made several attempts to complain and at the moment have just managed to get my Saturday extra charge delivery promised to be refunded, Yodel doesn't seem to be any better either as they keep trying to deliver even though I am telling them no one is ins during the day, you would think it would be easy to request an evening delivery when they say they can deliver up till 9 pm but this is obviously too much too ask. the asda direct call centre is based I. South Africa and when I called asda head office in. Leeds they only make the right noises and directed me back to the South African call centre, so at this present time still have. No chairs and feel like I am banging my head up against a brick wall, so this has changed my opinion on asda and feel extremely let down as I thought I would get good service from them, how wrong and ideas?
  • Al Ross,

I do not see what a persons race has to do with whatever customer service you have received, I am fed up of narrow minded people such as yourself who instantly jump to stereotypical conclusions that these people are ruining your service.
  • To Al Ross,

I work in call centre many years and people like you that insult not good. I work many hours try best to speak good english. People like yourself should not be so ignorant!
