Getting Refund ?? Don't know what to do!

Hi,

I'm new so I am not sure if this is the right forum.

Well, I am 21, I'm self employed and make my money from selling my own handmade cards, cleaning houses and doing market research.

Last week Wednesday I received a payment of £100.00 to my Natwest Bank. I checked my Online Banking which I do daily and noticed £67.74 missing.

I rang up Natwest and they told me that a Company called Cash Locator Services took this money. I understand that they deal with payday loans, which I've never dealt with before.

They are claiming that I gave consent for them to take out £67.74 which I never did. I sent them a letter and have emailed asking them if they have received my letter.

They still said that they haven't received my letter.

It's been over a week now since I posted the letter which mentions my request of getting a refund.

The thing that frustrates me is, how do I know if they had received my letter and are lying to me? What do I do should I contact Natwest and ask them to help?

Or is there any companies that deal with things like this?

It's very unfortunate how this happened, I do understand that I may have entered my Card details somewhere, but it wasn't with Cash Locator Services.

Being self-employed I can't afford to lose money just like that, so it's very hard.

I would appreciate advice, help.

Crikey, what a breath of fresh air!! Someone has actually posted a letter :j:j

Take a quick read of this

    http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumer/complaints.htm

This is a slow process but you will get there in the end, you can pretty much ignore anything you get back from Cash Locator Services with the exception of a complete refund.

If it is a fraudulent transaction, your bank can help but you will need to be firm with them.
Everyone who does sign up for this scam also deny completely visiting the website too so there is some resistance to believe your story at the bank.

You are entitled to a full refund, once the wheels are turning they may give you a refund minus £5, don't fall for that, take it all back, every penny.

Ignore their claims of non receipt, you sent the letter, the clock is ticking. They will just stall you with excuses.

    Hi,

    Lol, I'm abit slow.

What is a Letter by Record??

It's confusing I've never had to deal with anything like this, it's all new to me.

It's frustrating the company doesn't even have a website.

I will be speaking to the bank again, and I will be looking to complain to the ombudsman.

Thank you all for your help.

Proof of Delivery. If sending via Royal Mail then send it 1st Class Signed For.
Stick with it, as others have said, be firm with your bank.
  • I would have thought that a letter to your own bank, stating very firmly that you have no knowledge of this company or the debit, and you want your money back in your account immediately, would be the first avenue of approach. No ifs, no buts.

A nice idea, but what will probably happen is that the OP will write to his bank claiming a fraudulent transaction - the bank will of course reverse the transaction while they investigate. The company will be approached, who will write back to the bank explaining how the OP entered their card details on their website, when they applied for their "broker" services and the money will be re-debited.

I was, of course, assuming that the OP has not been stupid enough to do anything like you suggest.
