Hey Mikey, just posting to say that you're not alone buddy! I've had exactly the same thing as you, but with UKPC threatening me.
Please check out the thread, as it contains some very good advice to supplement what you've received here.

Hey, thanks FunnyMunny - your situation is IDENTICAL! It's amazing isn't it... and '4consumerrights' response saying it's an increasingly common event just underlines how disgusting the methodology is behind these 'businesses'. Your comment about paying a service charge in your rent is interesting too - I'm not sure if any detail like that is laid out in my contract. But the fact is my place was advertised as having private parking, my house number is painted in the space my car was parked in, they've accepted I hold a permit and live at the address, but are basically trying to impose a punitive 'fine' they don't have the authority to do (a big lesson I've learnt here - GPEOL!)
It's been an incredibly busy period for me, this couldn't have come at a worse time to be honest, so I'm only just filling in my POPLA appeal now - my 28th day is this Friday! Nothing like leaving it to the last minute huh :P
Anyway, this place has been a godsend. I'm actually a bit stunned that it takes such a proportionately heavy amount of educating yourself on the legalities surrounding all fo this in order to effectively make use of a legal appeals system like POPLA which is there to protect the public and regulate the parking industry. Over what should be a clear cut and common sense. But anyway, better get on with it...

Oh, and as brought up earlier in this thread, I did check my contract for any detail mentioning my private parking space so that I could include that too. But there doesn't seem to be anything there. There's nothing stating any detail about the car park being managed by TPS and the use of the permit, but there's nothing stating directly that I actually have my own space either. It was just advertised as such when I took the place, and... well, is obviously private parking for my address, with my house number on it!0

please note , the appeal has to BE WITH THEM by the deadline date , in their grubby hands, not in the post etc
ideally post it online ASAP , NO DELAYS, you only get the one chance at this so do not miss that deadline

Hi Redx, I'm doing it online now
Wish I'd gotten to it sooner, but like I said... wrong time of year! 0 -
DONE!

I've started a new thread relating to the appeal as submitted, thought it would be tidier. Thanks a lot for all of your help guys!
The new thread is here.0
