Costco Specific Forum

I have emailed this request through, but thought I would post here to see if I have any support.
Costco don't advertise their offers.
I find they can be a bit "hit and miss"; Sometimes their stuff is cheap and sometimes it is not. But currently the only way to find out is to go into a store.
I would like to see a Costco Specific Forum like the Argos one that already exists. Then people could post any great bargains that they found, or not stuff they bought that was not so great.
Cheers

I think it would be great to have a separate forum - I live about an hour away from the nearest store so would be great to know in advance what's on offer etc.

I don't think they are cheap compared to other stores. I'm wondering whether to renew or not next month[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica]

They issues passport twice a year (or atleast once).
they have weekly deals in the passport.
I was a costco member and based on experience I can say that you tend to spend more there then u can save. because they are cheaper and want you to buy in bulk you tend to spend more.
some of the deal is expensive then typical deal in ususal supermarket.
Costco is cheap for nappies and wipes etc.
Can a costco member put the weekly deal here please? My friend is a costco member and I will take his services.0 -
I really depends.
For example...
The meat tends to be really high quality (at least when I have had it), and tends to be a decent price, although there are times when Somerfield, do 1/2 price beef joints that beat Costco prices.
Also last week, I bought bacon from Costco. It was £5.99 for 6x250g packs, on offer buy 2 get £4 off. So I bought 12 x 250g packs of bacon for £7.98. 11 of them went in the freezer. It was a great price.
Their fish is also an excellent price when it is on offer. They had Salmon on last week.
Oh, and I bought an inflatable pirate ship water slide for my kids from Costco a few weeks ago. It was £329 but looks every bit worth it.0 -
they have cheap tyres as well
could anyone tell me when they have any offer on wipes / nappies0 -
IMHO

when you are in costco if you see a price which ends in a 79 or 97 it usually means that the item has been reduced and the following week it is reduced again!!0

Another Costco fan here but I know its not always the best buy if the supermarkets are doing good deals (their alchohol for example is rarely if ever cheaper than mr Ts or asda) unless you have a passport for the wines.
The meat is gorgeous and I will quite happily pay a bit more for it if need be than the supermarket stuff
When I first joined I have to confess to going a little bit mad and spending way more than I should - now I have a bit of a system with it. I tend to bulk buy the things that I used to need to nip to Asda for because Ive run out (bread, loo rolls, tonic water, tuna, water...) since doing this I find I dont do half as many of the little trips for a loaf to Asda that end up costing £50 - and yes sadly I have worked it out to be lots cheaper by doing this.
my best buy has to be the meat or the birthday card boxes (gorgeous hand made looking cards that work out about 50p each:T )0
