Best protection for Android mobile phone and tablet.

I am not convinced by most protection products for Android.
Unless the phone/tablet is rooted and the protection software uses that ability - any ordinary app protection software has as much power over the phone as the malicious software would have. Same as on PC's. virus have been released that have been able to quietly turn off many common anti-virus programs or disable them even running.
I am sure the skilled malware programmer can write code that can defend against attempts to stop it.0 -
I use lookout. But not for the scanning but for the tracking and locking of the phone.
If you dont download dodgy apps from dodgy websites then the phone wont need any antivirus protection.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
I use Lookout too and find it to be very good. Quick enough to set up, not just AV but sortof anti-theft too, like a lot of these products, and stays nicely out of the way.0
