Sorry a bit late to the convo, but I got a Asus Notepad on thurs (as a replacement to my kindle fire HD 12 model as the 2013 model doesn't have a camera) and I've found it very easy to use and long lasting battery :-) last night i found out though I had downloaded a app to play stuff I had downloaded (as needed on the kindle) then found out I didn't as its got a built in player, did make my tech savy colleague cringe abit :rotfl:
I'm not so good with technology all good for me and downloaded the netflix app as had loveflims on kindle but not accessible on AndroidThanks to money saving tips and debt repayments/becoming debt free I have been able to work and travel for the last 4 years visiting 12 countries and working within 3 of them. Didnt even look at that one in the end as my price limit, as I said, is £150 max and as far as I can see this one is £199+

Just like the complete flop they call 'iPad'.
I absolutely understand that a MicroSD is handy, so if you must have it, fair enough, but to tell everyone to write a device off without it, is a bit harsh.0 -
If you have wifi (who doesn't?) then you can store loads of music online at Google Play Music and stream* the music via the Nexus.

*subject to connection speed and usage allowance. Perhaps not suitable for someone on a 10GB per month broadband plan.0 -

I have no idea about tablets and have been tasked with buying one for my son.
I have a budget of 150 max and saw this one in currys which seems to have good reviews.
What do others think of this tablet, or can recommend a better one for watching videos, childrens catch-up TV, things saved on an SD card for long car journeys, and to play games.
Thanks0 -
Despite the lack of SD card slot, the Nexus is great. If you have files in the cloud or on a network then space isn't going to be a problem, unless you fill it with hundreds of apps. Bearing in mind that some apps/games can't run from an SD card..0

Thanks Cisco001 - but I would point out to the OP that he doesn't need an SD card if he buys a tablet with decent storage. Space for hours of video on a 16GB model, and if you plug the tablet into the computer, you can just copy files onto it like a USB stick.0

As a 16GB Nexus 7 user, I knew that.
But as OP said she want SD card to store. Some one recommending Nexus should have point out the fact do not have micro sd slot. And Nexus 7 basically not fulfill the requirement she list out.0
