I totally agree, I now have a couple of dents and marks on both drivers and passenger doors, I did not notice them but OH did when he borrowed my car and has just given me a lecture on parking, I always park well away from the main parking area, I only passed my test two years ago and only been driving properly for 18 months.

On that note does anyone have any advice on driving in icy and snow weather

I like to treat driving in the snow like I treat a beautiful lady. Nice and smooth. Do everything smoothly, speed up smoothly, slow down smoothly, speed up smoothly, slow down smoothly, speed up smoothly, slow down smoothly, and make sure you use your clutch........smoothly.

Oh, and if trying to pull away, release the clutch slowly in 2nd, with no acceleration until you get moving ;)
On a side note, I am another on who votes for snow tyres, excellent things, and a good compromise are Vredestein Quatrac 3 tyres.

    Oh forgot...
No limoncello in Lidl. SA thinks they had it in but sold out.

Couldn't even park in Aldi...I turned around and drove out.

    So sorry....no further forward:o
