I've just realised something, sounds awful, but I am really missing my Mum
She died nearly 31 years ago but I guess nothing can ever fill that gap. Anyway, they just played her favourite Christmas song, an unavoidable one (White Christmas) and I burst into tears! Now I understand why I am feeling a bit low I can get through it, but she never met my kids or my grandson and I really wish she had at least managed that.
Anyway, I am not after sympathy, it was a long time ago and I should be well over it, but those of you with mums still around, whether sick or otherwise, treasure them and give them a hug, you never know what is around the corner
Thank you for letting me get that off my chestWhat is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
Please don't ask the subject of the thread, the answer you will get from most will probably be baked potatoesWhat is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

I lost my Dad ten years ago and silly little things still cause me to well up - like a song... or your post!
Thinking of you and hoping you have the RL support around you, as well as the Elite - which is a given - to see you through the more difficult days.“Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while you could miss it.” ~ Ferris Bueller0 -

Big hugs to you. My mum is wonderful and I appreciate her sooo much, so I can't imagine what life is like without a mum. My dad died more than 7 years ago and I don't think I will ever get over it tbh. Its just worse this time of year I guess.xxxx0 -

its not something you ever get over, i think its more 'come to terms with'
i know you werent after sympathy but have a hug anyway. its the time of year that makes us more vunerable to upsets as family and emotions are so close to the surface.
im lucky that i have my mum, i can however usnerstand how you feel as we have lost a few dear family members recently and it does get difficult seeing cards and things in shops that you think would be perfect before you stop yourself and do a reality check.
hugs to everyone who needs one and hope you are all wellSPC~12 ot 124
