Hope everyone's having a good day, weather here is awful! I need some help...can anyone think of anything useful but nice to go in a men's hamper? I'm making DH one, we've got a £50 budget this year but only want pratical stuff, i've bought him jeans, socks, DVD, book and thought I would make him a hamper with shower gel etc as he hates buying it, we buy our own :) I know it's boring but he will like it and I had a complete meltdown yesterday as couldn't think of a present so come up with this!

    So far i've got:
4 Lynx shower gel - £0.99 in superdrug
Lynx deodrant roll on - £0.99 for holidays as we only take hand luggage - he's got loads of spray Gillette deodrants from a glitch
    Rennies 72 - £3.50 on offer in Mr T's
Nivea Shave gel - £2.00 on offer in Mr T's
    Packs of tissues - £1.00
    Hayfever tablets - £1.00
    Toothpaste - £1.00 prob get a couple
    New toothbrush
    Nail clippers - £0.50 in T's

Even though we are married we have our own toothpaste etc :)

Can anyone else think of anything to add to the above or if they think any of the above is overpriced i've looked for offers etc but am stuck!

Thanks :) trouble is as we've been saving every penny for last 3 years for wedding and house etc it's difficult to spend money on stuff that we don't think is worth it! Even took DH shopping and said find something you want, we came home emptied handed

One year I made my brother a hamper and use dove soap bars to pack it out a bit can usually get a 4pk for around £2

  • Razors; comb; nail brush; back scrubber; vaseline or similar - baby products aisle is usually good for stuff like that; moisturiser/dry skin cream (Ponds or generic, Morries used to do one, other supermarkets probably do too; again baby aisle is good place to start; or E45 cream in Morries, 10 pence with £1-off coupon, details previously posted in the forum); talcum powder; face cloth; bath sponge; plasters; blister plasters; painkillers; travel-sized toothpaste; sun cream; after sun; eye drops; atomiser (from Superdrug etc) with water and a few drops of his favourite cologne, for a freshen-up spray for long journeys/flights; insect repellant, sting relief (depending on your holiday destinations).
If you've already got some of these products yourself, you can always buy some of the travel containers and little pots (from Superdrug), fill them, and put on some nice hand-made labels.:)

 impressed, brilliant thanks think that's covered my hamper :), I forgot about the E45 cream voucher been meaning to use it!

Sharp trimming beard/moustache/ear hair small scissors?
    Bath Salts?
    Travel sponge bag?
    After sun?
    :)

We only have a shower but our new home has a bath so instead of salts going to get some Mr Matey bubble bath hehe, thanks for the idea.

    Good afternoon.

    Thanks for the lists SAVVY
    Lost my mojo a bit.

I had a phone call at 3.30.Mother rushed to hospital again. Can't go to see her because I have a nasty cold. She is stable so my sister is going this afternoon.Lost my mojo for wombling as well. It's pouring hard anyway.I just don't like this time of year.Dark mornings and dark evenings.Roll on the spring.

    Evening all

I hope your mother is ok and that you feel better too. My Mum had to go to A&E on Saturday. On Friday she was on the sofa and she couldn't move and was barely coherent, I thought she'd had a stroke at first but she kept saying 'I'm fine'. I had to leave to go to work so sent one of my brothers round, by then she seemed better. On Saturday she seemed better but was in agony. Her leg turned a vicious shade of red and was swollen, turns out she's had a severe reaction to a bite of some kind. Thankfully the antibiotics are taking hold, but it's going to be a while until it heals. Must run in the family we all have bad reactions to bites (you can have that one for free :rotfl: )

Belated happy birthday to Miffie  and hugs to those that need them :)
