I know I'm mad to even think about doing this.....it was just an idea and to see what everyone else think of doing it as I've never have been shopping on xmas eve before x
yes I have one nice bit of beef in the freezer but I may need to get another one because it is small x
thank you for the advice on what is like shopping on xmas eve!!

I think Mrs Stinkfaces idea of going to supermarket every evening is a really good one.
My sil does this and gets some great bargains as a few people have not thought of food shopping yet so can get lucky. Also helps that their mr t has alot of finest stock which seems to get reduced quickly.
I think it is best to get main essentials for xmas day the week before incase you don't get lucky as you would be upset not to have on big day and then view xmas eve whoopsies as food for the rest of xmas and new year. SIL always gets lucky with lots of fresh salmon xmas eve.
Also whoopsie time can be constant so plan at least 2 trips that day say around 1.30 and 3.30.

Always too kids to santa in MK shopping centre which used to be really good. Not sure about now but John Lewis used to put a great event on in the old square.

I'm making DH one, we've got a £50 budget this year but only want pratical stuff, i've bought him jeans, socks, DVD, book and thought I would make him a hamper with shower gel etc as he hates buying it, we buy our own. Can anyone else think of anything to add to the above?
Razors; comb; nail brush; back scrubber; vaseline or similar - baby products aisle is usually good for stuff like that; moisturiser/dry skin cream (Ponds or generic, Morries used to do one, other supermarkets probably do too; again baby aisle is good place to start; or E45 cream in Morries, 10 pence with £1-off coupon, details previously posted in the forum); talcum powder; face cloth; bath sponge; plasters; blister plasters; painkillers; travel-sized toothpaste; sun cream; after sun; eye drops; atomiser (from Superdrug etc) with water and a few drops of his favourite cologne, for a freshen-up spray for long journeys/flights; insect repellant, sting relief (depending on your holiday destinations).
If you've already got some of these products yourself, you can always buy some of the travel containers and little pots (from Superdrug), fill them, and put on some nice hand-made labels.:)'It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.'
