what are the best options

I have received the letter re: virgin price increase and have been jolted into doing something about it at last, but I have no idea what is best!
I am paying ~£30 for 30mg BB/Medphone/Med+ TV, which will increase to 34.50 in Feb 2014.
I am now living on my own and don't use the landline phone at all or watch the tv very much anymore, but I use the PC all the time. There is no satellite, only cable to this house - please help me to decide what the best (not necessarily cheapest) options are for me, there seems to be so much out there :o
TIA
Ju

Unless you want to use mobile internet, Virgin is the only way to get broadband without a landline.
  • Thanks Teddysmum, not sure what you mean by mobile internet, how would that work?

Just get the broadband which is £25 a month. If you phone them up and threaten to leave you might get it for less than that although they'll probably tie you in to another contract. Broadband only contract prices went up in October so they won't hit you with another increase in January although, knowing Virgin, they'll probably bump the price up again in the Spring.

If you use the internet all the time it'll be a waste of time getting mobile broadband because the data allowances are very small.
