My dad did the same at our local shopping centre to collect an item in and out with 10 mins as the op . I have searched the forum saying don't pay blah blah one thing i cant understand is people saying appeal it once you get ntk ?
What are you appealing if you haven't lost anything and ignoring all letters?
So what about your clear agreement not to hijack/bump threads?

Ignoring is no longer an option in most situations if its a BPA AOS member involved and has not been for a good long time now.0 -

I do explain the reasoning in the 'newbies read this first!' sticky thread near the top.
And we realise that on discussion forums they don't want new threads all the time but on any parking forum - as it's about dates, details, appeals, contract and case law in some situations - you can see why we can't mix and match advice to two posters on one thread. A parking forum is more like a Q&A forum not discussion (except where needed on your own thread) so that's the difference here.
But please read the sticky threads, I think it's mostly covered, including how to be successful with a retailer complaint about the PPC.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Just an update for everyone who is interested in this one.
I have received an email from Crown Estate this morning advising that they have looked into this and will cancel the parking charge. They didn't go into much more detail than that but I'm assuming the UKPC contract has expired.
Good news for me and I have responded asking the current status of UKPCs tenure and the Silverlink so I will update when I can.
Thanks to everyone who helped and contributed to this thread.0 -
Sounds like one for the local paper to investigate because other people must have got tickets in the meantime.
You could also email the BPA and DVLA and say you have reason to believe that UKPC were ticketing on this site for months AFTER their agency agreement for parking had been terminated, and that there must have been other tickets issued like yours. What are they going to do about it seeing as it's (at the very least) an ICO breach to give out data without 'reasonable cause' on a site where a PPC are not contracted by the landowner, and if the offence is established then surely it would warrant a criminal investigation. So are they going to report it to the Police and ICO or are you going to take it to the ICO, your MP, Trading Standards and the Police yourself?! Give them say, 28 days to investigate and respond.

And well done to you and to martmonk for flushing this matter into the open!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I've started gently with an email to the Crown Estate contact thanking her for getting involved and having this cancelled but also asking what date the notice period ends (or ended) and asked if she is ensuring all tickets issued from that date are cancelled.
The aim is to see if we can get that date. Once we know for sure then further complaints as mentioned by others can be initiated.0 -
Crown Estate are not going to confirm the dates. The response I've received just reiterates that the contract is terminated.
As much as I hate going to any retail outlet I might have a little look if I get the chance this week.0 -
Yeah they haven't replied to me. I work that way so can pop in one night this week and see if UKPC are still there.0
-
I think the signs still will be - it's the attendant to look out for.0
-
I went through last night. All the UKPC signs are still up but I couldn't really find the attendant. There is only one hut in the middle of the car park and it says its Silverlink security and not associated with UKPC.
I wouldn't be surprised if the attendants do sit in there though.0
