Great stuff thanks.
The signage is very poor so I will definitely include that. I will update this thread once my NTK comes through and I sent the appeal.
Thanks all
Yes definitely await the NtK - do nothing (other than preparation research) before then. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Thanks again everyone. I have been reading all morning and this forum really is helpful.
I am aware that parking in a disabled bay was a stupid thing to do and I know I was in the wrong and won't be doing it again.
I have e-mailed Argos aswell. I was in the store for no more than 10 minute to collect an order and when I returned to my car I already had the 'ticket'.
Thanks again.0 -
I have e-mailed Argos aswell just on the off chance. They have responded advising:
Thank you for your email regarding your recent visit toour Wallsend Silverlink Shopping Park store.
I am sorry to read you have received a parking ticketwhen collecting items from the above store.
Whilst we never like to read that anyone is less thansatisfied with either the product they have purchased, or the standard ofservice received, we do appreciate knowing where we need to makeimprovements.
After looking into your issue further, I am sorry toinform after speaking to the stores duty manager the only reason you wouldreceive a parking fine would be if your car was parked in a disabled baywithout a valid disabled badge or on double yellow lines.
The car park outside were the store is located is notowned or operated by Argos or our landlord, it is operated by UKPC because ofthis I am sorry but I am unable to assist you further with this matter andwould advise you to contact UKPC directly to appeal the fine.
Please accept my apologies for any inconveniencethat has been caused.0 -
I've PM'd you.
Crown Estate response includes this.....
"I can confirm that their contract was terminated when we purchased the property so slightly confused by your email."
Of course it might be that they are still working out any notice period but if not they are operating without landowner permission never mind a valid contract!0 -
In other words UKPC are trespassing? :rotfl:0

Thanks for the help martmonk. I will respond to you asap but I can only send one PM an hour. That is interesting. Can I fine them then?0

If confirmed that's dynamite as it means that they are fraudulently ticketing cars & claiming charges when they have no right to even be in the car park. This is one for the police not just Trading Standards.0 -
I have e-mailed them a copy of my ticket as requested so we will see what Crown Estate come back with. They have said that there may be a posibility that when the ticket was issued, UKPC were still working out the remainder of their contract, however as it was only yesterday I would be surprised. Will update the thread when they respond.0

I like the rebuttal in post #8. Gives them a chance to cancel the charge due to the circumstances whilst letting them know that you know they'll lose if it goes to POPLA. Probably will still get rejected but I think that's the best way to kick off the process. I can see why they still reject these claims even though they have to pay for the POPLA code - if word gets around that they drop it as soon as these kind of challenges come in, the bully-boy PPCs really will be on the road to ruin. As it is, I'd say it's a safe bet that the majority, unsettled by their intimidatory tactics and daunted by having to put together a formal appeal, simply pay up.
Good luck with it anyway - waiting for the inevitable rejection of my challenge before I go to POPLA myself!0 -
Save me making yet another thread on the same situation can i just ask some questions
My dad did the same at our local shopping centre to collect an item in and out with 10 mins as the op . I have searched the forum saying don't pay blah blah one thing i cant understand is people saying appeal it once you get ntk ?
What are you appealing if you haven't lost anything and ignoring all letters?0
