    https://www.companieshouse.gov.uk

    Click on " find information"
Then click on" webcheck".-don't go into this but

Below this a bit further down

    click on " access webcheck"
Enter company name( if you've managed to find it)
(Also google company name and word director if it's a limited company )
  • Follow the instructions where you get to the popup window that tells you to right click and and copy or save the link. Either save it and open the RTF file or copy it and open WordPad, Click flie->open and paste the URL in the name box and click open.

Cheers for that i shall give it another go when i get home. :)

Is there any chance at all that this company isn't based in the uk?

Not necessarily. The shareholders are the owners. But the shareholders are largely isolated from the misdemeanours of the company. It sounds like you ought to say what the problem is.
You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'

There was a post( still ongoing on here) of someone who had problems with an online business, after posting on here we were able to establish the company wasn't based in the uk but in the USA , even though you would not have easily spotted that.

    Hi

Thanks i'll give that a try.

I've got a small claims against them and someone has told me i need to find the owners name so i can put there name on the paperwork instead of the company name.

They are wrong , the debt would lay with the company if you try to take the wrong person/ company to court it will get thrown out

Is that true for a sole trader?

It is certainly true for a limited company, but the OP is yet to answer the question whether it is LTD or not.

The OP hasn't specifically said that it is a Ltd company, but he does claim to have found the "directors" names - so looks like it is.

For a sole trader, you take the person to court in their name as the business name will just be a trading style.

as a matter of interest if more than one director are named whom do you name the CCJ to?
or is it just 'the company name'?

we have 4 directors named at CH but none are listed as company secretary.
Unless specifically stated all posts by me are my own considered opinion.
