Appeal through the store to Landowner

Options
Hi
I am attempting to "soft" appeal a charge through Homebase, who have agreed to pass it on to the landowner. Is there any advice on what to put in such an appeal, as I do not want to prejudice any further appeal should this be unsuccessful.

Key points I am considering mentioning
1. My mitigating circumstances
2. The speed with which the charge was issued (<5 minutes)
3. Lack of any real losses in a free sparsely populated car park.
4. Emphasized that this reflects badly on the shore and the retail park.
5. .we are seriouosly considering boycotting the retail park until UKPC are either replaced or change their unfair charging structure.

I was going to avoid any mention of contract law etc, but if any of you think it might help to go a bit harder...

I believe a softly softly approach as per above is sufficient , you dont want their hackles up, you want the "aggrieved customer" would like this quashed asap approach, so as your points already look good to me

in the meantime appeal to the PPC too, on similar lines but using templates as used or suggested in the NEWBIES thread at the top of this forum , linked in my signature too

also read that newbies thread as it has loads of good info in it, prepared by somebody who knows what she is doing !!

here is my success to the PPC , which was directly to PE not ukpc , on similar grounds

I would advise keeping it in the 3rd party though , not I did this and I did that, dont admit to being the driver at this stage, complain as the RK only

DO NOT MISS ANY DEADLINES ON THIS , especially the PPC and POPLA ones if in england and wales

    Thanks Redx

I was going to wait for the NTK before appealing to the PPC. I was also thinking of referencing "the Driver" rather than name anyone explicitly...

depends if you had a PCN on the day of contravention, because that is the NOTICE TO DRIVER

in any case, follow the advice by coupon-mad in the NEWBIES sticky thread, anyone who doesnt do so wants their "bumps" feeling ;)

and you must decide your case according to your region of the UK , that is most important

England and yes the notice was stuck to the windscreen (NTD) :-(

Should we not bother waiting for a NTK then? I thought it was always a good idea to wait...

Email the CEO of Home Retail Group ( they own Homebase ) :

    terry.duddy@homeretailgroup.com - he's got other charges cancelled.

I was given an email for someone else at head office, that I should probably try first... I could always follow up later

wait for NTK as far as PPC is concerned. Complain to retailer/landowner now

Have you seen the whole sticky thread of tips called 'Successful complaints about PPCs' at the top? And by the way this is NOT a 'soft appeal' it's not an appeal at all. It's a complaint.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD

Seriously - go straight to Terry. Why bother with the lower staff who have to stick to the rule book ?
