Little tip I thought I'd share

In the past, I've struggled with impulse buying online but I've recently discovered a little tip to help me with that.
I've set up an Amazon wish list and now if the urge to spend strikes, I add the item to the list.
Weird but it seems to work, so just thought I'd share.

That's a good idea.
My problem is that I impulse buy online but when I'm out shopping I hate spending money on myself!0 -
As the mouse on the current Aldi Christmas advert would say, "Like it".0

Great idea maz6 and one I think I will adopt from now on . I already kind of do it as add things to the wish list when I can't afford the item or it is a 'nice to have' rather than a 'need' and generally they stay on the list rather than getting put in the basket, proving they are impulse wants.DMP Nov 09 £25,851.93 DMP June14 £0 100% paid:D

I am also an impulse online purchaser. These days I wander round websites filling my basket but then close down without checking out - it seems to satisfy the need. I am also manically unsubscribing from all the mailing lists I seem to have ended up on so that temptation doesn't land in my inbox so often.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans

I do this too as I am addicted to buying books. However what I do now is add the books that I was going to buy to my wishlist and then order them from the library - this saves me so much money as I very rarely re-read a book.0

I do this too and it is very effective. I also do Mallygirl's filling up the basket, then shutting the tab, too. So much more socially acceptable than doing the same in a shopDebts 2004: £6000..............................................Aug 2007: £0!!!!0
