Mag daily suggestion/request?

I totally agree and posted this as a suggestion on the new daily magazine thread but no one replied so kept my head down!


Would save a massive amount of time for anyone posting them not just for everyone else!

At the bottom of the comps board where the "Display" options are change the one headed "sort by" (I think the default is "last post time") to "thread start time", that should remove all bumped posts.

Totally agree. Noted also that the board now has 385 pages :eek: I have never seen it anything like that before.

I disagree with this. If there is one prize (or even multiple prizes) which are shared across the mags, then it is one competition, with multiple entry methods.

A bit like competitions where you can enter by a form, with additional entries for sharing on facebook or twitter. Similar also to rafflecopters where you can get multiple entries for the same prize. These don't get posted on multiples threads, because it's the same competition - the different entry routes are all posted on the one thread.

Anyway, fundamentally people would be able to see whether it was a prize they wanted or not. If not, it's a case of clicking one cross. If they are interested, they open the thread and immediately see all the different links they can enter through (and can decide whether to use just one, or all of them/whether to enter just once, or daily). I don't think anyone could argue this would mean prizes were hidden away.

I personally think we need to strike a balance between prizes being off the main board and therefore missed by many (including me, for a long time), and the board being over-clogged by repeated prizes. And the OP's suggestion is one, simple way of reaching this middle-ground.

The only negative I can see, is I don't know whether this would impact on how posts were added to the dailies thread, for those that want to use that. I think if it did, it would be simple to resolve though.

I'm sorry but I just miss the daily mags thread we had and hate the way they are now spread out all over the main board. That's my opinion said!

I think that if Chat Mag and Woman's Own and Pick Me Up are all giving away the same Rubber Chicken (and not a separate Rubber Chicken per magazine), then the threads are all Dupes of one another.

That's not strictly true is it!!

Toniq never asked for it to be changed, just have big prize comps on the main board and Comping Cat only ever voiced their opinion.

I think you will find that the Magazine Thread took on a life of its own and once it was highlighted to Glad that the magazines had been taken off the main board the thread got locked and will be sorted out I presume after Christmas?!

Why don't someone start a petition?

You could start a thread in the Compers Chat corner stating it's a petition to re instate the other way of listing the daily mag comps & people can add there post saying they agree

Then when people have had time to add there name you could PM Andrea & show her

Get off my (text removed by MSE forum Team) case, believe it or not an mser won £3,500 off the mag comps because it was on the MAIN BOARD......I can ask her to post here if you wish. So what MSE Andrea said she wanted was to give an mser a chance win big was a success.
