What? like you expect house prices to keep doubling and then the proceeds handed to you on a plate....................
Hows that hard work?
Kinell!
The hard work is going without what you call essentials (pubs clubs holidays) working 12 hour shifts , then taking on your second job.
HPI are very handy yes, but if you have all your properties on repayment mortgages it does not matter what happens, crash or rise all of them will become nice little mortgage free earners.
Stop being jealous, get off you @rse and work.0 -
Property speculators add nothing to society, but misery and the destruction of aspiration for hard working familes and couples who wish to purchase their first home or to move up the ladder.
It has always been hard for us normal people to get on the property ladder, the problem is you want evrything before you have earnt it, in our first house we were given a bed, went to the local tip for chairs and a table, had no telly or much else.
That is what you have to do to get on not just crying about it and blaming everyone but yourself0 -
His n her mobile phones ...£50
Phone insurance..............£10
Sky TV .........................£40
Broadband .....................£20
That adds up to over a third of my first mortgage interest. If these essentials had been around when I was 22, I could not possibly have afforded my first 2 bed mid-terraced property. If we both needed cars to get to work I may still be waiting to join the property ladder.
GGThere are 10 types of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those that don't.0 -

Erm if the market crashes the OBVIOUSLY people can buy cheaper houses and spend the rest of their money on fun stuff rather then banks shareholders no?

Your post is well.... pointless as its fails to acknowledge any of the REAL issues as to why young people can no longer afford a home.0 -

Are you f*ckin stupid?
Arnt we as a race trying to learn from our mistakes and leave the bad things behind and live better, more full filling lives?
What sort of moron says paying absolute top whack for esentials is a good idea?
Do you agree with high taxation just cos tax was allways quite high?
Or
What about when you gas bill increases............ do you smile?
Do you say to yourself 'Well gas was allways a bit pricey so it should be more so now'
Or have ACTUALLY thought - hmm if essentials were a bit cheaper then I could go out more often and enjoy my life a bit more, rather than be a slave to banks' share holders
F*ck me stiff! this country is even more stupid than I thought! and I had a really low opinion from the start!0 -
