The websites don't exist.
I was quoted £500 initially but came down to £150 after a few minutes discussion! I did not bite!
Don't touch these with a barge-pole.
I had it done properly about 15 years ago and it cost £200.
Make sure they have proper insurance for climbing on roofs!0 -

I've seen it done several times as I said above and I'd have to say that the results always look very good. The roof gets its colour back and looks 100% better, but I think I'd be more inclined to seek out a professional company rather than these door-to-door people who you can never be sure of.
I get this a lot with people wanting to pressure clean my driveway. I admit the driveway does need cleaning but not from somebody who randomly rings our doorbell.0 -
For an older roof to "get its colour back" it requires much more than a pressure wash http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6eF8iiAGmks
Not recommending this company, purely an illustration of the process0 -

I've seen it with my own eyes on several properties aged around 30 years old. One was a red cement tile and the other grey. The colour came up lovely on both of them.
I'm saying that notwithstanding my earlier comments advising against using door to door tradesmen for this purpose.0 -

Yes & that silly prat is either going to kill himself orb somebody else when he falls off the roof.......apart from dislodging the tiles with his size 14 trainers !!!0 -

It looks well ........ but only if both sides of the semis get it done. Nowt worse than seeing half a roof done :rotfl:
I've also seen a roof clean being done and I swear the guys weren't wearing any kind of harness or safety gear. Something tells me they'd have a field day on your house insurance if they got hurt but save themselves a bob or ten by not covering themselves properly.0 -
I got my roof cleaned and it was a great job. You could really see the difference in the colour of the roof compared to my neighbours!
Funny thing is that she tends to copy any work that i do! So yes she got her roof washed as well. Anytime i have a workman out she is out nosying and asking him what he is doing and asking him to quote her for a similar job!
You have to feel sorry for people with no imagination of their own!0 -
Oh I don't know Chickabee, maybe she was just impressed by the job your workies did and decided to get it done too so's her roof wouldn't look bad beside yours?
Try to look on the bright side eh?0 -
apparently roof tiles after they`ve been powerwashed need to be sealed,
means they have to come back when the roof has dried out.0 -

I'd glad to see somebody agreeing with me. I commented on this in post #3 where I said that the power washer would "drive" the water deep into the tiles causing them to crack whenever it was frosty.
Why would they need sealed though? Are concrete tiles sealed when they're new?0
