has anyone had there roof cleaned and how much did it cost.

I had a leaflet through the door and I was speaking to the man who delivered the leaflet but his website does not exist.which makes me think I should avoid .
The leaflet has a freephone number ,landline number ,mobile number ,email ,web address .

There is little point in asking how much someone else paid to have their roof cleaned as the price will affected by size, height, type of tiles etc.

I've seen it done and it does lift the colour of the roof and remove any moss etc. It does bring the whole lot down the sides of the house though. I've been advised by at least one person who claims to be in the know that the cleaning process drives water deep into the tiles and makes them vulnerable to cracking in frost. I have no proof of that.

It isn't something I'd be in a hurry to do. Letting some eejit onto my roof with a power washer isn't my idea of how to get my jollies.

You could also find that the leaflet is being handed out by travellers, especially if things like the website address aren't real. There's no way of checking unless you know the tradesmen personally.

Only sensible reason I can think of would be to remove moss which will eventually end up in the gutter. Easier and probably cheaper would be spraying the roof with weak bleach. I have heard that a copper wire laid along the ridge will keep moss away, rain hitting the wire leaches weak copper sulphate which then runs down the roof and keeps moss away. I suspect it would eventually stain the roof with greenish deposits, but I don't know as I've never tried it. We get callers offering to power wash our roof but I've never been tempted. Don't see the point.

Moss falling of my roof not only blocked the gutters causing water to overflow the gutter on to the wall, but also totally blocked several down pipes.

Not sure I would let someone walk over my roof tiles though.

Had roof cleaners in our cul-de-sac over the summer, since they were here the first time we've counted them back at least 6 times canvassing the houses which didn't get done the first time. They're very persistent and didn't like it when I said no repeatedly. Bit of a cliche but they really did look dodgy
