i.e it only has 1 WAN input??
Yes, it's one or the other - one at a time, didn't realise someone wanted a device that could connect to both cable and dsl at the same time. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
The OP didn't say
But if the user has VM and ADSL both at the same time, not sure why he'd want it one at a time? as in on a personal view i'd want both active together ^-^ (But i am a bandwidth !!!!! hehe)
As for Woby's comment, if the OP did want them both at the same time it cant be done no matter how much moneysaving you want. In fact it would cost more than just 2 routers.... I accept others opinions but no need to be sarcy about it[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

Moneysavingexpert is the website, 2 routers isn't.....
Was really referring to thatA nice direct comment at me saying my advise wasn't money saving and his advice is so much better (when it might not attend the OP's needs! and the fact I was giving a solution to another problem than the one Woby was thinking of obviously)
And 2 home routers is a LOT more moneysaving than a corporate CISCO type router which would allow for 2 WAN Inputs:rotfl:

tough audience tonight
(lets just say I was taking the view that someone on MSE asking about the difference between ADSL and broadband routers wasn't planning on needing a CISCO router to cater for two connections.......)0 -
His question was:
"a router thats able to do both".
Cisco was a broad example. But this depends on whether he means both at the same time.
If so then he'd need a high cost router....
If someone on MSE asks a question, which when interpreted one way theres NO cheap option, then its still MSE[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."
