fertility isn't based on age, well its not in my area you should get a free go and then you will probably have 2 eggs back as standard because of been over 35. google the criteria. Fingers crossed you will get your miracle too xx

Sadly def age comes into play in our area. Looked at most recent criteria. Although I have heard that it is/has been changed so keeping fingers crossed.

Friends of ours got turned down due to age criteria and one other factor less than two years ago and had to pay privately - lost their appeal. Was a tough time for them.

Keeping fingers crossed....we'll find out end of the month I guess. I'm taking it as a positive that the fertility centre have agreed referral for our case and lead consultant is seeing us. Thats one step I guess, right??

Who'd of thought the ttc business would be such a roller coaster in so many ways.

    Choc xx

Hi ladies, up and down few weeks. So much happening it's untrue! Anyhow, just to update you....consultant had diagnosed us with 'unexplained infertility' :-( Trying to stay positive on that it may well happen but two years on (now can officially tell everyone that as it's real for us) and no pregnancy despite both of us being better than most with our test results. Next option is treatment - IUI or Ivf however not eligible on nhs for either because of age. Our hospital trust has own criteria of must be 34 or under at start of treatment - I'm 36. So we've a lot to discuss and decisions to make. As you prob know none of this cones cheap or without worry. Hey ho, so there we have it. Sorry to drone on, just getting it off my chest really xxxxxx

    Hey Happy!

    How are you? How's bump?

I feel quite at peace with it all now. It is what it is, it'll either happen naturally, with help or not at all and will just have go deal with what happens as we go along.

We will try IUI first (assisted) - i'm hopeful given that there is nothing (that they can see/tell) wrong with either of us, that just having that extra bit of help, over stiumlating eggs and putting hubbys you know what in the right place at right time will be all we need. Obv we'll never know and i've read very mixed opinions/success on IUI but I feel we have to try this first.

I see IVF as our back up/last chance if it doesn't happen any other way. Does that make sense??

    Fingers crossed.

    xxx
