I've just had to phone my bank up to ask for a new debit card as the chip and pin on mine isn't working. Before the person on the other end of the phone would put through my request she had "just a few questions to ask me" Which involved wanting to know had I claimed off my household insurance in the last 3 years and when was it due for renewal, was I considering a personal loan in the next 6 months and did I have outstanding balances on store or credit cards that I would like to transfer to their credit card. And she would NOT take "i'm not interested" for an answer

I ended up putting the phone down on her so I have no idea if they are going to send me a new card out or not :(

Got to hate the revenue driven businesses and commission based wages. I would *never* go for a job with commission based wages - as I just would hate to be a complete loser having to go as low as these almost pressuring tactics. Maybe our tactics with these people should be to apologise to them for having such a crap minimum wage job and having to pester/beg us for money?

We have to remember commission based wages is the reason for the whole energy provider scams with sales people doing favourites like faking signatures, saying can I read your meter please - sign here to say I took your reading and so on.

But what if their earning £30,000 or £40,000 a year from it. Some of them do. They'll just look at you and think your thick.

Ok turn it around then. "You're only after the commission and I'm just not interested!" or "I'll sign if you give me your cut of the deal!"

But won't most be on a crap min wage then get paid £x per signature?! Therefore no signatures = minimum wage.

You could laud your self importance infrom of them.

"Hello, can I interest you in a special rate credit card"

Response "Me, credit card oh no. Im far too important my little commision sucking minion peasant. I have to go. But before I do let me tell you how much of an !!!! wipe you are......ME.....ME.....CREDIT CARD....Im on 0% deal lasting all my life you know....my parental lineage stems from aristocracy you know"

This a scenario in HALFORDS & ASDA

Your not the only person who they'll ask that day though! They'll get around £10 per application. One no won't be a problem.

They have a job. They are people.

Yeah - "sure why not discuss this fantastic deal over a coffee." 3 coffee's and 2 hours later, "sorry I'm not interested" lol.

Not a bad idea. Theres loads of lonely people out there who need someone to talk to them. Why dont they talk to these sales people.

Two birds with one stone and all that.
