Hi all,
I am coming to the end of mycontract with orange and I am currently debating upgrade options. When looking at the Orange websitethey show the phones and plans and then ask if you want to pay extra to be with ee and get 4g I think it is (correct me if I'm wrong bit I am not very techy). I thought we had bought Orange so won't it already bee ee?
Apologies if this is a silly question but I hope you lovely people can explain to me - feel free to talk to me like an idiot.

They both run over the EE network, but the 4G service is branded EE, whereas the 3G one remains branded as Orange.
I didn't see the benefits in 4G myself, so I'm on an Orange contract (but the bars on my phone signal show as EE).0 -
The quick and simple answer is that Orange and T-Mobile joined together to form EE. Although they now operate under one network, Orange and T-Mobile still exist to offer 3G services with different tarriffs etc. but EE runs the new 4G network for the company.
As they are all (sort of) the same company they just keep them slightly seperate to differentiate what they offer I believe for now.0 -
My mobile and broadband is with Orange/EE, I took it all out in Orange and it automatically switched to EE over the course of the contract. Its all quite confusing. My broadband is all EE, my mobile is EE but I have to log in through Orange to view the account, and the statements are from Orange.
If I were you I would phone 150 from your mobile, its free, and get through to someone to speak about your account and ask them. trying to get answers like that off their website is hard work.
maybe try phones 4 u or carphone warehouse for the upgrade?0 -
