Hi mrs smith, yes it's an addiction! Every spare five mins I get I'm on here!

It seems to make me feel so much better writing it all down, getting it off my chest to people who won't judge or shout at me!

    And it's Friday

  • Hello cmcavon,

So sorry to hear about your worries. You are definitely in the right place to give you hope and a sense of purpose in the debt reduction process. It can be a hard slog sometimes. But it makes you more aware of what you are doing and your reasons for overspending.
I am definitely an emotional spender, as I know are many people on here. It's a good idea to identify your triggers and stay vigilant!

Definitely having a wobble this morning :(

Managed to sleep like a log, both the children slept in their own beds for once so that helped! But I woke up panicking about money again! We have a bit put to one side for emergencies but I really don't want to touch it. I need petrol today and cat food. It's such a stupid thing to say but I hate spending actual money! I think that's what got me in this mess in the first place, using a credit cars it's not real money is it. Easy to just use the card and forget all about it.

Off to spend the day with my Mum today. None of the family know I'm in debt and I'm not going to tell them. My mum does know how low I've been feeling recently though she just thinks moneys tight.

It's not helping that I can't shift a bad throat/chest I've had for about a fortnight. Cough makes my head pound which is making for one very grumpy lady today!

Sorry for the withering, need to snap myself out of it.

I am obsessed with making extra money!

I'm spending every spare minute doing surveys and watching ads! Anyone recommend any good sites? I'm browsing the up your income threads.

    Every little helps :o

£10.47 transferred to paypal last night from this weeks surveys. May not be a lot but its gone straight to the post office card! Hubby thinks I'm mad sitting here every night clicking and answering questions but £10 a week is £520 a year off my debt

  • Hi cmc, well done on the surveys - thats a great way to look at it £520 off your debts a year is a lot!!

Did you have a good day with your mum last week? I am the same as you, my family don't know about the debt, but just think money is tight. I often find just a chat with my mum on the phone can help perk me up - she always seems to see the positive in things. Quite often I'll phone her and say, "I just need you to make me see sense!"

Have you got a Quidco account? Its one of the cashback sites. If you do online shopping you can get cashback, plus they have a section "No Brainers" which are sometimes cashback for doing insurance comparisons etc. I'm at £850ish cashback for things I would have been buying online anyway, but thats over the course of about 3/4 years.

Keep your chin (and your motivation!) up!!
