Royal Mail - Small Parcel Sizes Changes

A friend of mine recently posted a package which was well within the "wide" small parcel dimensions, but was charged as a medium parcel. I think the PO staff must have thought that the new "deep" size limits were instead of the old "wide" ones when in fact they are in addition.
6-bottle size wine boxes, often available free from shops, are normally just slightly smaller than the new "deep" small parcel limits, so I find them very useful for postage.0
