Is the sign in the picture before or after the island you wanted to turn left at?1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?0 -
That picture of Corporation Street provokes further questions.
What exact offence was the ticket for? Did you actually receive a ticket for entering there?
I see no signs saying that there is a bus lane.
I see a Pedestrian Zone with exemptions for buses, taxis and so on.
However .....
In my opinion the sign does not conform, or if it does, it means something that was probably not intended.
Because of a lack of horizontal black lines in the centre section, the exemptions for all the vehicles listed, buses coaches, taxis, blue badges, loading etc. apply only from 7pm to 6am.
So from 6am until 7pm ALL vehicles are prohibited - including those listed.
So ALL the vehicles in the picture are committing an offence.
What do others think?0 -
The wording is:
"Except buses,
coaches, taxis,
(blue badge) and for
loading
At any time
and licensed
private hire
vehicles
7pm-6am
only"
Now, my understanding (possibly wrong) of the design of the sign is that the phrase "At any time" is the key to the split. It is the phrase the applies to the words above and the "only" at the end applies to the second section.
...but while I might be right, it does seem a tad ambiguous.
Still, if it is before where the OP got to, then there was an advanced sign, so they can't complain that there wasn't.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?

Thanks. This is the turning that you take (ie entering corporation street) in order to approach the island that has two bus lanes and a no entry off of it
Those roundels are no longer there. There are no restrictions on going into corporation street. Google maps also shows a large sign on the left halfway down corporation street showing the island with a few blanked out words. That sign has been removed as well0 -
