Ive had a Samsung galaxy s4 since may and its in immaculate condition. However, the screen just stopped working on Friday ( it was in my locker at work so not dropped or anything) , I've taken it back to the shop I got it from (carphone warehouse) and they have sent it off for repairs... I am now 10 days without any phone. First issue is I am on contract and I am still paying for something I cant use. I have contacted my phone provider and they have said there is nothing they can do for me as I didn't get the phone direct through them. Further to this is if the phone cannot be repaired what am I meant to do as I still have 18 months of a phone contract left which we all know the phone provider is not going to stop unless I buy out of my contract!! What are my rights in this situation??

If the phone wasn't damaged, they have to repair or replace it "withing reasonable time and without causing you significant inconvenience".... I am now 10 days without any phone.
You can use this 'something' with any other phone.First issue is I am on contract and I am still paying for something I cant use.
That was correct.I have contacted my phone provider and they have said there is nothing they can do for me as I didn't get the phone direct through them.
If it wasn't damaged they will repair or replace it for free. If it was, it's your problem, not theirs.Further to this is if the phone cannot be repaired what am I meant to do as I still have 18 months of a phone contract left which we all know the phone provider is not going to stop unless I buy out of my contract!! What are my rights in this situation??

Your contract is for the network not the phone .0

Carphone Warehouse normally provide what the call a 'HAB' - it's a Handset & Battery Loan phone that you can use whilst yours is in for repair. They should have offered you this in the shop, if not, go back and ask for one.
Just don't expect anything fancy, it will be the most basic Nokia model - still enough for phoning & texting though!0
