Returning to the magnolia tree theme, they are like dumb blondes, all showy and flaunting their prettiness too early when it is too cold, then shivering and dropping all their leaves.......
Btw, our boiler can't do separate hot water and heating either and we have just gone with it for years.... Do have an immersion though.
Take it easy,

Love the "dumb blonde" magnolia idea - that's ours to a tee. Will have to try to post a pic of view from our bedroom, it's like being in a tree-house!
Yes, will be glad when Friday comes complete with plumber and relevant parts (as it were)!
Thanks for kind thoughts Squirrel.Stash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Thanks A*M, yes, she did have a fab day. I did push myself but it was in a very good cause!
Mr. Hbbb is already in bed today and I'm just about going too, just both very cold and tired!

Eek on the £400, hope the fleabay sales ratchet up & help soften the blow.

Hi P*M
Yes, it was a very happy day!
Am really hoping it won't come to more than £400, as he's also a bit suspicious about another problem, so I guess it's good psychology ... we'll end up relieved if it's "just" £400. Not putting any MOPs over for a minute just in case though
I've got some stuff on Fleabay from the weekend's free listing but I don't think there's going to be any bidding wars to the tune of £400 over any of it :rotfl:!Stash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Short and sweet today as just about to crawl into pit with hot water bottles!MFW actions: NSD at last! £10 Amazon voucher from surveys.
Grey clouds: both shattered, poor Mr. Hbbb still with his lurgy, me from pushing on yesterday regardless (although I'd do it again, it was a great day for mum).
Also weird letter from consultant who did some tests way back in December, asking me to get in touch to discuss my "condition". Of course you can never get through to anyone though ...Silver lining: Overdue clients paid up!
Daily Declutter: neighbour from over the road took away our garden rubbish from major front garden tidying session (between rugby matches) last weekend and bag of charity stuff picked up by RSPCA. Total = 85 / 365
Simple pleasures: pyjamas and hot water bottles!
Hope everyone's OK - off for an early night now XStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Take care of yourself Hbbb, full on days always need a recovery day afterwards, I find.
Hope you get hold of the consultant and everything's ok, they don't make things easy do they

Hope everyone's OK!MFW actions: NSD, a few money transfers ready to do books and hopefully a MOP tomorrow evening after plumber's been and we know exact cost.
Grey clouds: weather's turning this evening, wind's right up and sounds like the water butt's being refilled as we speak! Hope boiler can be fixed on tomorrow's visit, would hate for it to drag into another week!
Mr. Hbbb in bed by 7.30 - it's all he can do to be at work at the moment. Logic says he should just stay tucked up and look after himself, but he won't listen to that kind of logic!Silver linings: My juicing is going well, definitely "eating" more fruit this way! Will have a weigh-in tomorrow to see if it's made a dent anywhere!
Daily Declutter: books in pile by front door to pass on to mum when she comes round on Saturday. Will add to total then so at mo it's still 85 / 365.
Simple pleasures:
* Taking dogs out at lunchtime, they were poppets!
* Leek and potato bake for tea.
* Having a bit more energy today!
* Primroses in front garden, lovely random little clumps.
Hope weather's not too grot where y'all are and that you have a good night!Stash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Hope all's well and everyone's Ok from last night's blast of grotty weather ~ let's hope everyone's seedlings survived!Today's MFW actions: £300 MOP to account today.
Today's grey clouds:
* Waiting in all day for plumber (OK, so I'm working at home anyway, but it meant the beasts didn't get a run and I didn't get to PO in lunch time either).
* Tin openers that don't.
* My throat's as rough as a badger's backside.Today's silver lining: boiler fixed, heating and hot water restored. Plumber ended up having to go off to an emergency, hence very late (5.30) to our job but done by 7 and knocked £60 off for inconvenience :T
Daily Declutter: nothing today, too much going on workwise and chilly house wise all day. Pile to go on Freecycle over weekend though and 2 items with bidders over at Fleabay, which will finish on Sunday, so weekend should see a little more action in that department. Total still standing at 85 / 365.
Simple pleasures:
* Love my lovely warm radiators!
* Happy phone call from happy client asking permission to pass my number on to someone else.
* Big cuddly dogs: quote from plumber's lad: "it's a bear!" Nah, just a dog who badly needs her haircut (tomorrow).
* Mr. Hbbb feeling sufficiently recovered to celebrate Friday with a beer and staying up late (past 7.30) for the first time all week!
So, a spendy week all around, tomorrow has predicted spends but will be aiming for no-spends from Sunday through to the end of the month and a final tally up of MOP vs unexpected boiler payment. It's been a lesson: we definitely need that emergency fund!
Hope everyone's good and that you have a happy, relaxing weekend lined up!Stash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!
