Delighted with Sky!!

I had a great experience when phoning up Sky today, so I thought I would share it :)

As it stands I'm in a bit of a poor position finance wise and I'm having to cut back in many areas. So I was advised to contact Sky to see if I could haggle, as I'm currently paying £51 a month.

So I phoned Sky and explained my situation and was advised I could receive half price line rental for a month, taking my bill to £31 a month. The maths doesn't really add up but I've had an e-mail confirming this.

Happy customer definitely staying with Sky x

For just a month ? You are correct that that doesn't make sense as line rental is £15 something, so half would be under £8

Yep I have no idea what else has been halved but I got a text message confirming my new monthly bill amount.

I shan't ring up and complain, lol xx

I think I'd have been inclined to try to push that a little further but ......... if you're happy.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
  • 1 month?

Just cancel it and you will save yourself £51 every month.

I require the internet, and an active phone line, for my job AND I'm tied in to a contract for 12 months so it's not as simple as cancelling it unfortunately. xx

May I ask how you would try push it a bit further? X

No, by accepting the deal the OP has entreated into a new minimum contract. He obviously wasn't offered the deal while still under the original minimum term!

    nope.......

No "nope" about it. Sky don't offer people already still in contract the kind of deal discussed. There is no need or incentive for Sky to make deals with those still in the minimum term...
