Ridiculous web error leaves me with cancellation bill!

A few days ago i went onto redspottedhanky.com to look at the cost of tickets to london.

2 x adults, 2 x children for £30.60

So i used my tesco points and converted to a £30 RSHanky ecoupon.

I went through their online process to book the tickets but when i received the email confirmation it said 2x tickets only!!

Where were the childrens tickets??

Within 10 minutes of receiving the email confirmation I contacted RSHanky via email querrying where the 2x childrens tickets were??

They replied telling me that i hadnt ordered them and that i will need to make another order for the childrens tickets

They had charged me £30.60

I went back onto the RSHanky site and re inputted the ticket details and for 2x adults and 2x children its £30.60!!!

So why do i have to reorder at extra cost?

But guess what? They told me that to cancel the order i will be charged £10 admin fee!!!!!!!

Ah the admin fee.. £10 to click delete.

I went back onto their site again and put the info in again just to double check.. It now says its £61.20

So the outcome is

If i inputted the wrong details (which i know i didn't) - i am charged £10 to cancel the order

If there website has goone tits up. When my screenshots says it has - i am charged £10 to cancel the order.

Where do i stand on this?
It was £30.60 before i even booked the Tesco vouchers
It was £30.60 when i booked the tickets.
I didn't make any mistakes with my order, apart from using Red Spotted Hanky

If you could tell us what journey you were making and whet type of tickets you were trying to buy, and those you actually bought, then someone may be able to help you.

Unfair contract terms - binding the consumer where the supplier is not bound to honour his obligations.

They should have at least cancelled and refunded free of charge.

You said you have screenshots? Can you linky please?

Leaving aside the other issues for a moment...

I hate to have to tell you, but the admin fee for cancellation is £10 per ticket, not £10 per booking.

Are you sure its not a Group Save ticket valid for 4 adults which includes children? Thats what I get if I input your details above. `for the price of £30.60

Its only 61.20 if you select the two single tickets

It seems to me that the website decides by itself what you get. Ive tried it the exact same way and had £30.60 and £61.20

Either way i contacted them as soon as i spotted the confirmation was incorrect. They should either amend the order or cancel it without charge for me to re-order.
  • Is there a 'G' on your confirmation?

The fare for that journey is indeed £30.60 for two adults and two children.

It is the same price for two adults only, and it is exactly the same price for four adults.

If four people are travelling then Super Off Peak Day Return Groupsave tickets allow four to travel for the price of two.

I have just been through the booking process and stopped at adding a card number.

It all looked good up until that point, but of course that doesn't mean that your booking didn't go differently.

Not sure what to advise, but if you have screen shots then upload them to somewhere like photobucket and post a link to them here.
