Just to let you know I used my card at Debenhams by mistake and was surprised when I received my statement to find I had been given cashback for my Debenhams purchase. As I wasn't exoecting cashback for this purchase, it took me over the £225 threshold, but it's worth knowing for future reference.
    What MCC did Dabenhams use?

I used the Luma card in a small Waitrose inside a motorway services, not expecting it to generate cashback, but it came up as MCC 5499, and cashback applied.

Also they've given me £9.01 of cashback again this month. Second time they've given me an extra free penny :-)

Waitrose stores inside motorway service areas are very expensive - even more expensive than high street Waitrose stores.

Where do you see the MCC 5499 on the capital one website for this card?

Go to Account Overview and then under Recent Activity click on View All Transactions, then click on More under Details. You can change the date at the top of the Transactions page if you need to go back further.

With my online account, it only gives a description
    e.g. GROCERY STORES, SUPERMARKETS
under the heading MCC Description, but not the number.
(This is actually probably more useful in this context)

The only place I have seen the MCC number on the online account is under 'View your pending transactions'

^^ What they said, you can always cross check the descriptions / codes here http://www.dm.usda.gov/procurement/ccsc/MCCandBOCcrosswalk_20090123.htm
