Luma 4% cashback - Verified retailers/locations

Options
Hi all,

I've been looking for a complete list of retailers where I can collect the 4% cashback with the Luma card. I've not found one, so thought I'd start my own.

The published locations that pay 4% cashback are:

Supermarkets
Marks & Spencer
Asda
Iceland
The Co-operative
Morrisons
Sainsbury’s
Somerfield
Tesco
Ocado
Farmfoods
Lidl
Waitrose

Fuel Stations
Supermarkets (Tesco, Sainsburys, Asda, Morrisons...)
BP
Esso
Shell
Texaco

To add to this, I carried out a test purchase at a local indian/asian supermarket (Quality Foods in Hayes) and have kept an eye on my pending transactions.

The transaction is now listed (no longer pending) and the total cashback earned includes the value of this spend.

I've figured out that any spending carried out where the retailer merchant code (MCC) is 5411 (supermarket) or 5541 (service stations) is likely to attract the Luma cashback.

If everyone already knew this, then I'm a bit slow - if not, then lets make this thread into a complete list of retailers where the Luma cashback can be earned. :D

Verified locations:
Quality Foods Supermarket (Hayes, UB4 0JN)

Although I can't guarantee it, I imagine that it's everything that shows up as a Supermarket or Petrol Station on this website.

Quality Foods in Hayes is there, showing as a supermarket.

I wondered why Sainsbury's didn't appear against the names of towns. Then found if you type Sainsburys it works but doesn't automatically include in the list of supermarkets if you just put a location in.

As I posted on the original 'New Luma 4% card' thread:-

"Interesting to note that the 4% applied to a farm shop purchase (MCC Description: 'Misc Food Stores - Speciality, Convenience, Markets, Vending machines' - I think it was code 5499)."

So I doubt there can be such a thing as a 'complete list' if hundreds of small traders will all count.

cheers for this, I often use a local "freezer shop" for frozen foods, that retailer appears on santanders list, I will now proceed to use my luma card at that shop next, cash back is soon racking up on this card and ive only had it a week!

Don't forget that it maxes out at £9/month.
  • I shop at nearly all of these locations so would it be worth me applying for this card after new year that is when they bring it back?, is it a hard card to get? it says on there website people with bad credit can also apply for it.

It has to be the "Luma Reward", login to your online account and if you don't see "Cashback" then you don't have it and need to cancel and re-apply.

Some Aldi purchases come up as MCC 5399 (Miscellaneous General Merchandise) instead of 5411(Grocery Stores, Supermarkets), I don't know what controls which is used. Most people don't live in an area where Aldi accepts credit cards so this is probably not of interest to them. Another MCC which does get the 4% is 5542 (Automated Fuel Dispensers).

Does this mean that you have found and Aldi that uses 5411 ? All Aldi purchases I have made are 5399.
