I didn't want to do that Westie as my old phone is full of games I paid for, for Jelly. And switching the old across to the new would link them.

Wanted a blank canvas. I know what I am doing. Definitely not my first Apple rodeo... ;)

Becs so far there is no comparison. But a huge reason for getting a new one was that my old one needed charging 3-4 times a DAY!!

What I put the new one through last night would have killed the old one twice over. I will let you know if this one lasts all day with my manic use. If so, that is a win!! ;) xxx

  • Lilt, I have finally got through all of your diary. What can I say, an inspiration definitely me to that is for sure. I have laughed, smiled and shed a tear with you through all this but didn't want to post until I got to the end.

A little bit about me, the wrong side of 40 with a beautiful DD who is 14 and someone who I am so proud of. Only slight teenage angst every now and again. I was and still am as close to her as you are to Jelly when she was little and I enjoy every moment with her.

I am inspired to start my own diary now as I have debt, I have been on here before but not regularly and I think I need to get to grips with it now.

Keep doing what you are doing, and well done with everything you and Jelly have achieved in the last year. I for one am so proud of you and will be staying with you in the future.

Lilty, I'm well jealous of your new phone & even more jealous that you came up with such a great way of getting it. I thought I was a smarty pants keeping my 4s on Simplicity but your CC is even better. I'm definitely an Apple retard as I still can't operate the camera on mine. Sometimes black & white sometimes square sometimes a video of complete rubbish.

So pleased to read that Lilty Mum has finished chemo & hopefully only two more sessions of radiotherapy to go. She will rock her new her colour & have silver prize at the end of this awful time.

Well done Jelly for being such a quick learner & being a beautiful knicker wearing little girl.

Yes, mine (4S) died at about 2pm today whilst I was out  Would be good if they improved it!! Me & OH went into the Apple Store today for a browse, I was eyeing up an iMac pro or whatever it's called. £3,299... I'll take 2!! :rotfl::rotfl:

I've got a Macbook Air Becs and it is a little beast. Set me back just shy of £1k in January. I've spent a LOT on Apple this year, but I haven't had a new laptop in 8 years prior to this and lasted with my old one taped together with the hinges outside the case for the better part of 8 months :rotfl:

The new phone is a roaring success. Lasted me all day. I have a big battery block I carry everywhere with me. It can charge an iPad 4 times over from a completely dead battery before it needs charging. An iPhone... well I've charged mine up 15 times and still not needed to charge the battery :rotfl: - godsend, from my mumma :heart2:

Gretchen Welcome! There is no such thing as a wrong side of 40... You've got all the t-shirts, the experience and everything else I would dearly love to have knowledge of. And I am not all that far behind you!! ;)

Bless your DD. 14 was a horrifying age for me, so she sounds a very together and lovely young lady. No doubt due to a cracking mum! ;)

My diary has been invaluable to me through the years, as have my lovely friends met through here. Really is the best place to meet like minded wonderful people who you can really click with!

Thanks for reading all the way through. That takes some reading... :rotfl:

Fizzy :rotfl: bless you, I don't feel all that smart, having just come to the realisation in this post that I have spent £1600 on Apple products THIS YEAR *dies a bit inside* - I need to up my game. £40 a month is very doable. If I could add on another £40 I could start building up a fund to pay back the savings I used for le Mac! I have to say they are worth their weight in gold though. I am too old to switch allegiances now - I just don't *get* other leading technologies. That makes me sad. I've always been so good. But now I can't even work Windows 8 to the point I would rather spent an extra £600 to get this... :rotfl:

Mum has... 15 more rads to go. She hasn't started yet, and she is feeling very poorly from this chemo. She also had to shave off the lovely silver hair as it was falling out again and driving her insane. The stuff you don't think of... it was coming off onto her pillow and she was breathing it in and choking!!

Good news is she had her PICC line out today. She can move her arm freely again and have a proper shower tomorrow! She is over the moon and spent the night waving her arm about over her head on facetime to me!!

I went to the Clinic today to see the chronic pain specialists. I was in a group session but what I saw I enjoyed and I think it will be really beneficial for me. The reason they do group sessions makes so much sense. For every person there today there was the one presentation and set of choices in front of them. Is the system right for you, or isn't it? For me, and 1 other it was a resounding yes. For 2 others it was a total no. And the final gentleman.. the less said the better really. He is doing it. For the DLA. Not really what it is for. He won't get much out of it as he doesn't want to get his mobility back; he just wants to live off his benefits in peace and keep them coming by proving that everything people do, doesn't help. And he fair admitted that!

Meanwhile, for me, it was an eye opener. There were 2 people on crutches, one in a wheelchair (guess which) and a gent who was 20 minutes late as he couldn't physically get up to come!

Westie I thought you might enjoy this... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4b8oB757DKc and for anyone else who might think they would like to understand the difference between acute pain, and chronic pain. It is informative and I wish I could draw like that person. N.B I do know it is sped up :rotfl: but I would love half that talent!

Anyway they only do Weds, so have already contacted boss and got a leave of absence for the earliest possible appt next Weds. You can expect Tai Chi, Pilates, Psychologists and the Alexander Technique to feature in the coming weeks as I figure out a plan to manage my pain :D and hopefully come off the tablets. It was a wake up call seeing everyone else. All much older than me. All much much heavier than I, and I have a stone more to lose! It makes me even more aware that my pain management is in my hands and I am going in the right direction. All the more reason this is right for me, now.

Jellytot had a great day at nursery except for wetting 4 pairs of leggings. She also wet my bed when we got home, which has resulted in mass washing, changing.. and a night without my electric blanket :rotfl: which is already all drying on airers next to me as we speak. 1 night is bad enough.. :rotfl: nursery teacher queried a possible UTI so I have got a sample ready to take to the docs tomorrow and hopefully it will mean she gets antibiotics if necessary. I cannot stress how much easier it is to obtain a sample with a toilet trained child :rotfl: - I switched her seat and step back into a potty and she took to it fine, was excited by the change. The only problem came when she repeated her earlier potty technique later and proceeded to remove the pot full of wee and accidentally chuck it all over the floor.... :rotfl: copying mummy.

Had a lovely stroll out with Him. Wore a skirt and strappy top and have defined white bits :D

Mum and dad coming tomorrow. Jellytot is so excited! So am I. Will be nice to give mum a hug without tubes and wires and bandages in the way. Nearly all over!

Note to self, 3rd July, need a half day afternoon holiday. Him working from 5 despite not being in his contract  so I have to be home to cover Jellytot, it is also parents evening so we have that re-arranged from 5:30 to accommodate me, to 3:15 to accommodate Him.

Long post today. Sorry if I sent you to sleep ;)

    Love you all bunches!! xxx
